  • Pretty much every Motorsport body does it this way iirc. Nascar doesn’t inspect every car after every race in excruciating detail, they just spot check anything they think could have been manipulated.

  • Because medical research and best practices aren’t always followed in the real world. There’s huge racial and gender equity problems in the healthcare systems that are bigger than any one doctor or hospital.

AI simply amplifies the bias present in training data. There are sometimes methods to try to mitigate this, but I’m not sure how effective they are these days.

  • I can’t imagine Max is pushing at all. He’s won the championship, RB has essentially clinched the constructors (or have they won it yet?) and this is the first weekend where he knows he can have a slow week with no consequence.

Also Charles Leclerc Pole = Max Verstappen win, name a more iconic duo

  • Fair, and I’m not saying that it didn’t happen, but I’d bet it was less people than are doing it now. What we can all probably agree on is that high schoolers doing coke is bad and we’d like that number to trend down, not up.

  • Yep. It’s crazy and not in a good way. 20 years ago the edgy kids smoked pot and not much worse. Now there’s kids literally doing cocaine in bathrooms of high schools. Pot is not only normalized, it’s almost encouraged among teenagers now.

I’m a pothead to an extreme degree and I keep telling kids to not be like me.

  • Being around teenagers in the last decade pretty much leads to this conclusion.

The number of people I knew who didn’t do some kind of drugs in high school (grad 2017) was lower than the number that did, and I went to the known “upper middle class white people” school.

This day and age has led to teens increasingly seek escapism and other, less healthy coping mechanisms

  • 2004 Ford Escape

The car is a piece of shit. It’s falling apart on the inside and in general is probably getting close to death. Cost 5k like 5 years ago, so I’m not too worried.

I’m waiting to pay off my student loans before I commit to a new car payment. But there’s a 70’s RX-7 for sale near me that’s ~6k and I want a project.

  • Not sure why you’re being downvoted. By definition this is true.

Visible source is still open source , but it isn’t FOSS. Not everything open source is FOSS, but everything FOSS is open source.

  • I have 1 32” 4k and 2 27” 1440p displays and I also don’t understand this concept of “enough space”

I rarely use all 3, but the situations where I do would be a lot more of a pain with only 1-2 monitors

  • 100% agree. I wouldn’t be caught dead using a mouse on my MacBook because macOS isn’t built for a mouse. But at the same time I won’t use windows trackpads and will bring a wireless mouse to avoid it.

CAD work is an outlier that would be always mouse, but that doesn’t mean everyone needs one

  • Twitch started embedding ads into the stream video feed. So if you blocked the ad you also blocked the stream.

It’s been really effective at getting me to watch less twitch. I’d love to see statistics on how many people click away immediately after an ad starts.

  • Not anymore

When they took away the ability for custom usernames I canceled. I had a 4 letter for years, and now I can’t anymore.

However I do use it exclusively over matrix
