  • GameStop went to shit a long time ago and should have gone out of business and folded their assets. Instead because of some redditors they think they still have a valuable business with loyal customers.

Once they hard focused on NFTs I knew it’d never get better

  • Street pass was the shit. I remember taking my DS to school to get as many hits as possible. Now with the age of portable gaming handhelds it’s kinda crazy nobody has created some kind of open street pass service.

  • Yep, I was one of them, then I got one for work and charge it once a month or so while I’m in a meeting. The battery life is so long on them that there’s almost never a situation where I’d even want to use it plugged in

  • I’ll end up with an EV, but it’ll be something boring as a commuter car. If I want something fun/for the track I’ll stick with a traditional engine. They’re just more fun. The sound and the way they respond is just so much different to an EV.

  • Albon has been one of the standout drivers this season. Dragging that Williams to points more often than it probably should be in them.

Imagine what would have happened if they let him cook at Alpha Tauri for long enough. Probably would be doing better than Perez

  • Honestly I don’t get the love for EVs. They’re not fun to drive imo. Instant power is nice, but it’s flat and boring.

The ICE is such an integral part of enjoying driving to me that without it there’s little to no point. The feeling and sound aren’t replicable by EVs.

They’re great for the environment, horrible for the car hobbyist.

  • Anti-cheats aren’t very effective on PC. For example EasyAntiCheat us known to be the easiest to bypass. These aren’t software level cheats, they’re hardware level and then translating inputs into new “valid” looking inputs. This is next to impossible to detect from client or server side. That’s why this has to be done.

No black box cheat detection has been widely worked out yet. Multiple games have tried to varying degrees of success, about this issue particularly. It hasn’t worked, that’s why more extreme measures are now being taken.

There’s no downside other than shitty controllers and cheating controllers being taken off the market.

  • TBH app based dating has entirely ended the possibility of dating for me. It’s just not worth the effort and constant rejection. Add on being lower than normal attractiveness, and 5’5” to boot, it just isn’t something that makes it worthwhile anymore.

I’m no catch myself, and would need to do a lot of working on myself first if I wanted to date, but it’s not something that seems worth the effort now. It’s been so commodified that I just don’t have the will or want to put in the work.

  • They’re just not widely used on pc. They can be, they just haven’t been adopted by cheaters as much on pc vs console.

Microsoft should have banned these controllers years ago tbh. There’s no way for game developers to reliably ban players using them. The problem is that they haven’t been able to handle cheating up to this point.

  • Not even 1:1, I’d settle for 1:50, but that’s not even remotely close to what the “alternatives” are offering. A video hosting platform is worthless without creators, and the creators aren’t moving on from YouTube.

  • Honestly the power train is the #1 reason I dislike the Mazda. They tease bringing back rotary engines, only for them to be a gimmick. It doesn’t look awful, and does stay fairly true to Mazda styling. The back looks like a Ferrari, but overall it isn’t ugly.

  • TBH that Mazda is hideous and an insult to fans of rotary engines.

My only real car want right now is a small 2 door sports car, but it sure won’t be an EV. They’re not going to appeal to the part of the market who likes performance cars for what they are. And when they fall flat they’ll point to the low sales and say nobody wants them anymore and go back to making SUVs

  • Except the controllers who are doing external scripting are the best selling 3rd party controllers. So the free market has been pretty clear in that they don’t care if it’s a good product, they only care if it gives them an unfair advantage.

Letting the free market continue to regulate this means no change from the horrific state of controller based cheating that exists right now.

  • Going to have a controversial opinion here, but as someone who primarily plays competitive FPS games this is a huge win. Strike Packs have been dominating console lobbies for years now. Controllers that do scripting won’t work anymore, and that’s a massive W.

It’s not universally good, and they’ll need to expand the authorization program, but imo it’s well worth it to ban the cheaters using 3rd party controllers.

Edit: Downvote as much as you want. I’m fed up dealing with console players cheating with controllers they can buy from walmart. This is a huge positive for anyone who wants people to stop cheating.

  • Since when?

Most places in the US still can’t get 1G, let alone 10. 1st world countries aren’t even close to that target, let alone a developing nation.

If you’re thinking about starlink, it’s going to be terrible for gaming and introduces a ton of latency.

  • That’s pretty terrible and should put people off buying anything from them. They increased pricing, and when community backlash happens they just ban everyone who dares express an opinion that isn’t positive.
