I used to collect various systems and games but nowadays don't have much left apart from my Dreamcast stuff. Cost, storage space and just the risk of something becoming unplayable mean emulation is my go to now.
PS1 is probably my most played system, I used ePSXe for years but recently switched to Duckstation and so far so good. Some of my all time favourites are GT2, Future Cop LAPD, Devil Dice, Colin McRae Rally 1/2.
If you want something to play on Dolphin then the GameCube version of Skies of Arcadia is excellent.
Planetbase, it doesn't take long to figure out but I'm trying to unlock the other more challenging planets at the moment which just takes time.
I'm on the lookout for challenging survival management/city building games if anyone can recommend one? Something like Banished, This War of Mine or Frostpunk.
I don't have any input as a dev but I do enjoy finding, learning about and playing open source games. There is something about it that I find interesting and although most of them are not great I check back every so often on my favourites.
Yes and no. It's a detailed topic but for me personally yes it has become more expensive. Especially for collecting older stuff and is also one of the main reasons for moving more to PC gaming. On the plus side though my backlog has seen some action!
You decide where to (or not to) buy and play the games you want. Like I said there is no requirement to stick to 1 platform and you honestly sound so wound up by this opinion I'm astounded.
That's a odd stance to take. How would you be a thousand times happier if consoles didn't exist?
Consoles still have their place in gaming and to think otherwise is somewhere ignorant. Just live the best of both worlds like the rest of us and don't get so wound up!
Mafia Trilogy, and especially Mafia II, are all good games.
Thomas Was Alone is something different. Puzzle platformer with a nice narrative on top.
