  • This is extremely troubling news. It is really important to find out exactly what the compromise was here. Was the legit clinic using an unsecure platform or do they have a bad actor among them. I did find it interesting that the third party software companies weren't commenting on the case. It would be absolute mayhem in the healthcare industry if it turns out that the software was easily compromised by bad actors. I understand that a lot of smaller companies "get what they pay for" however HIPAA isn't something to fuck around with. And I would definitely like to see some criminal charges for the crisis center's theft of data and patients here. Those snake oil salesmen are a plague on real healthcare.

  • This was mostly my experience too. I don't think the Internet itself was as big of a game changer as the advent of smart phones. My day to day didn't change too much from a pre Internet life to a post Internet life until smart phones came along. Once everyone was able to access the Internet from their pocket is when things really changed.

  • Not gonna lie I'd love to play the second DM's game as a one shot.

  • That's pretty cool! I'll have to check this place out.

  • "Only thing stopping them from sending hired thugs to your house to shake the change out your pockets is the law. "

This is how I feel about ads. Ads are legal psychological warfare with the sole aim of stealing your money.

  • What a weird point of view in the pic. I can tell this is in the bottom but I can't figure out which roof this was taken from. Maybe a drone shot?

  • I recently bought the Cat Quest trilogy. I played the first two on my switch but the third one just came out and Steam did the whole bundle at a discount so I snagged it. Been enjoying replaying the first two before I start on the new one.

  • I am severely allergic to eggs so no annual flu shot for me but I have gotten multiple COVID shots without issue. I am a bit worried about a combo flu-covid shit in the future and will talk with my doctor about my options. I will say that it is possible to work with a physician or allergist and take half-shots of some vaccines. This is where you take half the shot in two spaced out doses to eventually get full coverage. I will admit that it didn't work for me with the flu vaccine but it was definitely worth a try and the reaction I had wasn't as bad as a full dose.

  • I think the idea of listing every job you've ever had on a resume is very outdated and anyone who still holds this belief is showing their age and privilege. This might have been relevant when you could expect to work for the same company for 20 plus years and maybe only change jobs 2 or more times in your life but that ain't the case now (and hasn't been for decades now). Hell I've lost count of how many companies I've worked for. I even completely changed professions after turning 40. It would be absolutely ridiculous to list any job experience that isn't directly related to the skills needed for the job your applying for.

  • Fun fact: The inside of the upper beak is where taste buds are located for parrots. Scientists are still studying to find out if this is the case for all types of birds or just some species.

  • That's weird. The link should be to the Wikipedia entry but thanks for making a steam link too!

  • Maize, a point and click/walking simulator/puzzle game about a secret military project to create sentient corn. Quite possibly the silliest game I've ever played.

  • My first parrot Johnny. I purchased him for my husband as a surprise Valentine's gift when we were dating/living together. While we had done our research and made sure we were ready to handle the responsibility, we were not financially in a great place at the time. My credit card was almost maxed but I made the impulse decision to call the company to get a limit increase so I could make the purchase. And while it did take me some time to get out of my young and dumb credit card debit I never once regretted getting my little turkey bird. He passed away from old age almost 2 years ago but I still miss him everyday.

  • I'm sort of with you on atrocious wedding photos however black and white photography is usually done to enhance the dramatic effect of an image. If it's done well it's amazing. One of my friends took black and white photos of my wedding without telling us and surprised us later with the photos. They were amazing and a priceless gift.

  • WTF!? How is the state health board not jumping into a complete investigation of this hospital at this point and/or shutting this place down? I have so many questions. The first of many is how did they "store" this body so that it decomposed to the point of being unrecognizable? This whole thing reads like they let her die from malpractice and then threw the body in a closet to hide the evidence.

  • Doing the Lord's work ❤️

  • I'd like to request Pony Island. Honestly I'll probably get this even if I don't win because I love games that troll me.

  • Honestly I blame tv for giving people the wrong idea when it comes to seizures. Everyone has this image of a person failing widely and dangerously but that really isn't how most seizures play out. I can understand not recognizing one if you've never seen it before but once you've seen one there's no excuse. The medics on this scene should have known what was happening, no excuse there. They should have their certifications revoked.

  • There's a house in my neighborhood flying both of those flags and the Confederate flag. It's mind boggling.

  • And the whole time these men have no realization that they're being controlled this way. You control the women so you can control the men.
