I actually try to pick games that are a 10 to 40 hour experience. There are very few games that I've ever put more time into than that. I know my attention span and I try to stick to it so I don't get that guilty feeling.
I had to do an elimination diet before testing for food allergies. For two weeks I had a cup of rice for all three meals a day. Now I really like rice but on one of these days I had to attend a working catered lunch with some coworkers. It was incredibly embarrassing eating my small cup of rice in this meeting while all my coworkers had an amazing catered lunch. I got a whole lot of "you're really committed to your diet" comments.
Parrots need the same level of commitment and resources as a child. Think of having a permanent 3 year old that welds scissors constantly (beak) for a minimum of 30 years.
These design examples are really interesting to me. I would hazard a guess that these types of designs are only popular right now because they are common among rapid design software packages/subscriptions used by companies who don't want to hire real designers. I don't think the styles are inherently bad but they certainly are lazy.
@skua@kbin.social. The only puzzle I remember getting hung up on was the base 4 math puzzle. Math and I don't get along so I looked up the answer only to discover that the input/drawing part was wonky and had to be cheated or brute forced.
I really liked Obduction. It was a rock solid puzzle game but omg the loading screens were a huge detractor. You had to move between multiple areas to solve some of the puzzles and to do so you got a loading screen which took it's toll on the immersion factor.
While a agree with the legal charges I still feel really bad for these two women. What made them so desperate that they chose these actions? Was this really a case of terrible decision making or even malicious intent? I don't think we'll ever really know and I hate that the pro-birthers use these sorts of cases as ammunition.
Humans bond over shared experiences and silly humor is one of them. It's no different from sharing pictures of our pets or talking about our favorite hobbies/tv shows. If your tired of junk food consume something different for a little while. I'm finding that I have participated in more unique communities here on Lemmy than I ever did on Reddit.
Years ago I went to the Philly ComicCon with some friends. On the first day we're walking in and I see this huge shadow come up behind me and then over top of me and then I see the tallest person I've ever seen walking directly in front of me. Turns out it was Peter Mayhew. He literally walked over my small 5'0" self. It was surreal.
No take, only throw.
