Something I learned taking college microbiology was that if you reuse towels for drying off make sure one end (like the end with the tag) is dedicated for your bottom half and the other for the top. That way you don't accidentally get your genital flora in your eyes/face.
I worked at a mom and pop hardware store in college. I learned more practical information there than I did in school. I even got good enough to sell power tools, mowers, and chainsaws. We didn't get commission or anything like that but it was a point of pride to be able to answer customers questions and make a sale.

The melamine was put into the pet food to falsely boost the protein content if I recall correctly. My guess with the cinnamon is that it's a containment from processing.
I've got a rice cooker that old enough to rent a car. My MIL bought me a newer one a few years back and it's still in the box. I just like my old reliable one better.
I just want you to know that those of us who make these things for a living hate them too. By the time the stakeholders gets done with their "input" all the cool shit we wanted to do to make them tolerable and maybe even fun is out the window.
Gabapentin wouldn't do anything for wound healing. I only mentioned it since OP said they had nerve damage in that area. The itching from the healing can exacerbated the nerve pain and the signals get crossed making everything feel worse. If it is an option it's certainly worth a try even in the short term.
I'm not sure if it's feasible for you to get it but gabapentin might help. It's usually prescribed for neuropathy type pain. I have an old surgery scar that sometimes itches from the inside (if that makes sense) and I'll take a gabapentin to get it to stop.
