Is this an intentional joke? (I often miss jokes so I am asking seriously)
Authy was bought ages ago by Twillio, which also owns Segment (customer data platform)... So Twilio may not be all that big, but they're fairly big players in the tracking and ads space. Which I loathe.
I'm in this thread because I want to move away from Authy for this very reason.
I almost opted to move my parents to use Linux instead of Windows because of how much time I was spending on fixing the malware and viruses they'd get. Then enter Windows Defender.
Now all I have to deal with is when they get the occasional scam call... "Yes, it's Bob from Microsoft, you need to wire us $900 to fix a virus."
Homebrew recently broke for me permanently on a macbook because it was made in 2013 and is now blocked from upgrading, so xcode no longer can be upgraded...Which means lots of other shit also no longer works. Including homebrew. Soon have to put a distro on it, I guess.
You've never had a machine for several years while your needs evolved? Have you never had a change in your living circumstances? Never had to shift priorities because of things beyond your control? That's great for you, I guess.
The box is several years old. It was bought before the pandemic and before lots of other shit that has happened in my life that I won't bother to relate. Once upon a time there was adequate space, thanks for your concern. The machine in question has 2x1TiB SSD in addition to about 22TiB of spinning rust on SATA, as well as a 2Gb connection to 76TiB of NAS storage. Overall my storage utilization is at around 86%; I don't buy storage space to leave most of it empty. So suffice to say, if I could make time for it, there's plenty of other places to move stuff, there's just no need because I don't have a new SSD to put in its place and the machine is on 24x7 so hibernating is a non-issue.
Always amusing when someone feels the need to insult me because they don't like my opinion. Since reading comprehension isn't your strength, apparently, allow me to explicate:
I wasn't saying it broke a rule (and for that reason, I didn't report it.) I was, rather, implying it's a dumb rule and this community is basically nothing but gossip and rage-bait. And that's fine, but I wish it didn't sit on the c/Technology community but instead was called c/technews or something, so that the c/Technology could be about... technology. But fuck me for having preferences, I guess.
An organ is just a collection of tissues. So yes, the brain is one such.
