  • That's a weird argument. Most people don't want to spend their whole lives in prison. If you'd ever been in one, maybe you'd realize incarceration is not an experience most people enjoy... at all. It's sort of the point. Suicide is even cheaper, should we recommend that?

  • I have at least 20 different devices that run some flavor of Linux. Servers, a laptop, TVs, AP/routers, probably more, if my other "smart" appliances run Linux also.

Do Android phones and tablets count towards Linux gaming?

PlayStations run a derivitive of BSD, maybe those should get honorable mention. ;)

  • About half of my body is now occupying the same space-time position as my refridgerator.

I die almost instantly, the half that is left outside the fridge slumps to the floor and creates a gory mess for my partner to find.

Meanwhile, the other half of my mass is busy trying to occupy the same place as my refrigerator probably causes additional...effects. Does it explode? Does it just make a mess in the fridge? I will never know. Either way, it's safe to say my family is getting a new fridge.

Currently split between VMs and physicals. I'm refactoring these ,with plans to build out and migrate much of it to a minipc proxmox cluster.

    Adding:

    • proxmox
    • podman/portainer
    • unbound
    • ngnx proxy mgr

    • some sort of mail stack, TBD
  • It is possible, albeit not legit according to MS. The Windows 11 license does not entitle you to a Windows 10 install. Fortunately, it's trivially easy to download Windows 10, install it, and then run one of the various activation scripts on Github

  • An "instance" is a techie way of saying it's a copy of that thing

(disclaimer: I'm not a lemmy expert, just techie.)

A Lemmy instance is just the server where accounts and set of communities lives. e.g, Lemmy.world or Lemmy.ml, etc. Each instance can "federate" content from other instances, which is a way of publishing content to servers you otherwise wouldn't see. You can see content and communities from other instances as well as comment on those other instances even though you don't have an account on each one.

    You are probably looking for

    !hydrohomies@lemmy.world

    But there are also:

    !hydrohomies@lemmy.ml

    and

    !hydrohomies@lemmy.de

You could subscribe to all three, or just the one on your home instance, or whatever.
