  • You obviously don't care to engage with anything I'm saying, taking the worst possible interpretation possible. Now you're throwing around insults. You don't care to have a conversation. I'm going to take a guess and say it's your attachment to the comic.

Good luck, and I hope your disposition improves.

  • I never said feet.

That is so inconsequential. I don't care if it was the tip of their elbow. The part doesn't matter. Why focus on it? You're doing nothing but distracting by pointing at something that doesn't matter.

That was my argument on her.

This whole time I've been talking about the act and that I don't know this person. Once again, not what I've been talking about. I care about the act because it is selfish. That is why my first post on this I said "Just because you made a selfish choice doesn't make you a [selfish] person..."

    It only affects her.

No, it does not only affect her. Have you never lived with people or been in a community. It takes time and effort to take care of people. If you're 'sick' and people take care of you, if you expect people to have the same amount of support after denying the 'cure' you're being selfish. If we keep up treating everyone the same, then we cannot 'step up' to help sick people.

You say she treats them like they’re just hands and feet, which is simply wrong.

You should re read what I typed..."[I]put myself into the shoes of someone who is helping her. "Oh, all I am is a foot?""

Nothing in this situation harms anyone,

Which is why I tried explaining why I put harm in quotes. I didn't argue she is giving people super cancer by not accepting help or not getting arms and feet re-attached

Her disability is not a burden on anyone.

Any ONE? sure. Not what I'm arguing. It's great that everyone helping her has the time and ability and desire to help her.

You seem to have started arguing against a phantom in the middle there

Yeah, anyone with experience is just traumatized and reflexively saying that everyone is just pushing that trauma onto others. You don't know me, you should give me that respect. That's why I made no judgement on her overall character. I don't know that. But the act is obviously selfish.

implied that the only reason to do nice things is so other people like you?

If you break it down like that why not take it all the way? The only reason to help people is because it gives ME feel good brain juice 😈 What about the only reason to help people is to manipulate them into giving me their efforts when I request them 😈 didn't you know, helping people is the most selfish act of all 😈

If you want to know how I feel about "help" is that it is just an inherently good thing to do. I chose my career specifically to help people.

    She’s not pushing anyone away.

Good thing it's a fantasy comic.

her learning to accept their aid

Even if I agree with you on everything, how is that supposed to show she isn't acting selfish with her choice from earlier?

  • I'm not as great formatting in text. But you started this by saying arms and feet. The rest were mostly
along the lines of the text has multiple meanings and I'm using certain ones.

I made no judgement on her overall character. I haven't argued her whole is selfish. That one instance is her being selfish. I did read what you wrote? Your argument on that specific act not being selfish is "she's done good things." I don't care. I don't know her. That act is selfish, the choice is selfish.

I don't care if they're family. Am I not allowed to complain about acts that 'harm' me?

I'm sorry, is that supposed to make me not feel that she's selfish. I have experience with people doing that "oh no, I cannot accept a gift" any every time I've seen someone do that it's from past trauma. The reason why I'm going to push back against anyone saying "let them stay traumatized" is because helping people and giving gifts makes people like you more. If you do that you're going to push people away, and make it harder to live/have friends/get help in the future/form bonds with people. No, that is bull shit behavior. You probably posted the one thing that would make me dislike her more.

  • She is selfish by choosing to not "pull her weight". She became selfish by that choice.

I understand there are some communities that choose things like keeping their child deaf, but if you're choosing to put more weight on me then that does go into my perception of you.

I'm not going to force anyone into "becoming healed". But they are choosing. That choice is when it becomes selfish.

No, it isn't as selfish as a billionaire putting children in mines to see their bank account grow.

Everyone makes selfish choices all the time.

Just because you made a selfish choice doesn't make you a bad person, or even means you "hurt" someone. Doing good deeds before doesn't make future acts not selfish.

When I first read "she has all the arms and feet she could ever want" all I did is put myself into the shoes of someone who is helping her. "Oh, all I am is a foot?" Is an easy thing to see someone feeling, especially after learning they're choosing to keep you there.

  • cart before the horse

I agree, that's what I've been saying...but if you want a better democracy you need to maintain the democracy. Biden losing means a risk of losing that democracy status. In this instance I'm not voting for Biden, as much as I'm voting against a dictator.

I am saying voting 3rd party is better than not voting at all. I'm also saying keeping USA sliding away from democracy is more important.

  • Of course it's where Dems will most oppose anyone you like. After primaries it's Dems versus Republicans. It's wild you'd think it would be different.

Gloat would imply I'm happy about the current arrangement. There was a scientist in antarctica who had to perform surgery on himself. Do you think he was gloating before the surgery finished? No, the political environment sucks right now. I want it changed, because if it keeps trending the way it does right now, I'll be killed. Doing nothing isn't a solution to my problems.

  • believes Wi-Fi is bad for health.
Wants to starve people and drive up food prices because she doesn't understand what GMO means, or doesn't care to clarify.
    Green party endorses fracking?
    Suspect stance on Ukraine
    Suspect stance on vaccines

I'm not saying biden has a better aggregate stance. I am saying you have a chance in a liberal government. But you don't in a conservative one.

You're spinning your wheels, and you're going to go nowhere. Making people only pay attention to president is one of the best psyops
    ::: spoiler spoiler
(no evidence, it's just funnier to believe)
::: that the Dems made so people like you vote so they stay in power.

I seriously thought you had a local candidate who was going to push for that. There have been several local elections where they had ran on and implemented something besides first past the post system.

If you want change in a system this big there are only 2 routes. Slow and voting local so your party gains steam, or violence. I'm not going to advocate for violence.

What do you think the outcome of voting for her is going to be.

  • Voting records? I don't know you, you don't know me. Great 😃👍 most people don't vote. You play football, you're going to get concussed. You involve yourself with politics, you're going to have to come to terms with people doing things you don't want done. You're the only you. Other people close to you won't have 100% the same politics. Waiting till you clone yourself will solve nothing.

If you want to make the changes that you want you'll need to get people who don't vote to vote. If all that happens is they vote during the presidency and know nothing about anyone else, then they are probably going to at best vote down ballot. Dems are better than Republicans. If my only choice is between Dems and Republicans, I'm going to vote Democrat. There was an election recently that I voted in. The only vote that was happening was for mayor. It was between Dems and Republican. There is no alternative.

Winging about how much the Dems suck is going to motivate no one. People aren't even going to get angry enough at the Dems when you say they suck to do anything. They're not going to protest, they're not going to vote, they're not going to get involved. You are at best wasting your breath when you say the sky is blue.

Argue for mandated voting. Argue for something different than first past the post. Argue for a politician. Hell, argue for a fascist takeover so debate bros can "dunk" on you, they're at least doing more that what you've put here.

The things you complain about will keep happening until you DO something. Argue about doing something.

  • Voting for local elections is more important than president. Some flavor of socialist could win a local election. You are fooling yourself if you think a socialist could win presidency in the upcoming election.

Also why should Democrats care about someone that doesn't vote? What you want them to lose 2 votes for you...continuing to not vote?

  • 1/3 of 10 is 3.333...

    1/3 of 1 is .333...

It's like when people come to America and are surprised when tax isn't included in sale prices. The .0333... you forgot to add on will get you in trouble with the universes math IRS.

  • .333... Is a third. That's just a quirk of base 10. If you go to a different number system you won't run into that particular issue.

The most common other base people know of is binary. Base 2. So in binary the fraction would be 1/11 and then 1/11(binary)=1/3(base 10).

I remember talk back in the day that base 12 is good for most common human problems. Some people were interested in trying to get people to switch to that.
    1/3 of 12 is 4.
    So 4/12=1/3=3.33333.../10

.333... Is just the cursive way of writing 1/3.

I still don't "grasp" infinity. I'd recon you'd need an infinite mind to grasp infinity.
