  • Why AI meme?

No hate to AI or image generation, they have their purposes, but why AI meme?

This is a 2 minute sketch, TBH I might be able to make this by hand faster than any of my locally deployed AI models.

"Sketch, Color, Snap, Crop, Add Text, Upload."

Dont say its a skill thing, I've seen literal stick figure drawings on lined paper get upvoted to frontpage here on Lemmy.

  • This is completely unrelated to your problem:

The calibre website recommends extremely strongly against using their software packaged by anyone else other than calibre themselves as they are often (see usually) buggy or extremely outdated.

It may be worth it to manually "install" the app from their website somewhere in your ~/.local/ and see if you have less issues using the official package.

  • Expiration dates are literally made up, very infrequently will any actual testing be done to see the exact time it takes for a food to decay enough to be either unenjoyable, unpalatable or inedible.

They're usually 1 week from mfgr for unpreserved foods, 2 weeks to a month for soft foods like American sandwich bread, 3 months to a year for dry goods (depending on what it is) and up to several years for canned goods.

My salt has an expiration date. Salt is a rock, it is millions of years old (not sea salt, mined salt). It does not expire.

  • Obtanium is not meant as a replacement for f-droid. While it can be used as an f-droid frontend, I primarily use it to install from git repos such that I can track their releases page for updates automatically when using apps like freetube which generally only work reliably if you're on the nightly release.

  • Tetris effect connected.

It made game of the year for a reason.

I think I've sunk 200 hours into tetris this year alone, I have it on like 4 systems including my SP handheld clone

Edit: my phrasing here was unclear, there effect connected has not been ported to portmaster or the ports collection, I use Tetris RR, a custom patched og GB tetris to have all the same amenities (hold, hard drop) as modern tetris.

If you like tetris and want tetris RR, find a GB tetris ROM and patch it yourself

A link to the Romhack (for the mods, this is a link to the patch, not the rom, i know VL has pirate content but this aint it, it does however have a link to their archive, where the rom does exist) https://vimm.net/romhacking/hacks/5813

  • Frustrating.

The rate at which I absorb information is disgusting. Yes please finish your sentence I already have a response why are you taking so long. How did I learn that? I picked up the manual and did it. Developing new skills? Learning Rust right now and its going well, failed out of highschool because I learned too easily and didn't need the homework to learn (so it didn't get done).

It comes with imposter syndrome: I knew the problem, I had the pattern figured out, why did I still fuck everything up (plot twist I probably didn't).

It comes with a superiority complex: I learned this in 10 minutes from looking at a Sci Journal, why has it been hours and yallvstill don't get it? 🙄

It comes with accidentally hurting people: frequently I say things thinking something hould be obvious when it is not, while unintended, it often hurts my partner who is usually in the line of fire when I let some dumb shit outta my mouth and insult someone's intelligence.

Anyway I hate it I'd rather be dumbsauce ignorance is bliss

  • I've found that a lot of apps with touch gestures need Touchégg to work correctly, could be worth a shot to give it an install. I use a converted macbook, and for any gestures to work with the apple trackpad at all I have to have touchegg, my partner has it on her converted pixelbook go to make the trackpad not feel awful there too.
