  • So that's the plan and I'm not a stranger to doing basic server stuff. For me personally right now though it just isn't feasible. I'm not in a space where I can handle extra overhead like that and I'm entrenched in a lot of important communications through my old email that need as little disruption as possible. In about a year I think things will have cooled down enough for me to switch

  • La La Land. I had just been unexpectedly dumped by my anchor partner a few days earlier. Crashed at another partners place and did a bunch of mushrooms, they put the movie on without thinking just trying to fill the time to keep me distracted. The movie about two people having a very sweet relationship then breaking up and not getting back together again was maybe a poor choice lol. We had to stop it part way through so I could ground myself but after a while I did end up pulling it together enough to finish the movie (with some crying breaks here and there). 10/10, would mushroom and watch again. Helped me process tbh, after I knew what I was getting into, very emotionally draining on me though.

  • Morrowind because I'm one of those people. But for real, that game in part defined large parts of my life. I got frustrated with the limits of the game so I started making mods, then got frustrated with the limits of the engine so I learned how to make my own. Now I work adjacent to the game industry with plans to get back into the industry proper in a couple years. Making games is all I've ever wanted to do and I owe a big part of that to Morrowind and the construction kit.

  • I got a Steelcase Series 2 like 3 years back. I work from home and usually am on my home machine the rest of the day because I've got a problem. This chair is going to add years to my back I'd be losing if I got cheap or "gamer" chairs. I was hesitant to drop that kind of $$ at the time but I'm a convert now, only the good shit for me

  • I'd argue yes most of the time but with some exception. I can't imagine something like a gut bucket or musical saw sounding considerably better even with more expensive materials and construction techniques. I'll admit I'm not like a music person I just dabble though so idk just guessing

  • I sometimes buy pretty new (1-2yr old) premade computers from foreign exchange students at the end of a school year. They often sell them for the cost of just the GPU, sometimes lower. The number of garbage PSUs I've had to swap out is ridiculous. People buy like $3k+ computers and are content with $80 PSUs it's amazing. I've had them pop on me after only a couple months use. Meanwhile the PSU in my current machine was a major purchase for me back in 2010 and thing still runs every upgrade I throw at it.
