  • The risk is that some unknown hacker discovered this vulnerability and abused it before the researchers discovered and reported it. It sounds like the company has confirmed that didn't happen, but they aren't 100% trustworthy in that regard, simply because they might have missed something.

  • I don't think it's unreasonable to want a game that I paid for to remain functional long term. In my case I have a copy of the Hitman trilogy in my Steam library, and as it stands when the servers for that game go offline it will become nearly unplayable just because the unlock system is reliant on the publisher's servers. It would be easy for them to just release a patch as they decommission those servers to allow the unlock system to function offline, but right now there is no guarantee of that happening, nor any real reason to do so besides some consumer goodwill.

  • The following post will meander a bit as I wrote it in a kind of stream of consciousness state.

I don't know where you heard that Super Metroid was originally a remake of the NES game, I'd never heard that and I can't find anything to back that up. As well, keep in mind that Super Metroid came out a full decade before Zero Mission did, and the original NES game that Zero Mission is a remake of was even lighter on story than Super is. If you aren't enjoying Super because of a lack of story that's fine, you won't miss much if you skip it, though I will warn you that a very common complaint about fusion is that until basically the very end the game is extremely linear. That said, I also think it's unfair to call Zero Mission an asset flip, it's much more a full on remake. Back to the Super Metroid thing, I will point out that the Wrecked Ship in Super Metroid is mostly not the Wrecked Ship you traverse in Zero Mission, there's like one screen that is shared between the two games.

  • I was kinda annoyed at the article for not giving any details on the kinds of policies they wanted there, even something as simple as better tax credits for having kids would go a long way towards making children affordable. And yet I am sure that's not what these people are advocating for.

  • Looks like it's not an issue fortunately.

Aida said the new material is as strong as petroleum-based plastics but breaks down into its original components when exposed to salt. Those components can then be further processed by naturally occurring bacteria, thereby avoiding generating microplastics that can harm aquatic life and enter the food chain.

  • I don't think that scotus ruling does bar congress from investigating stuff actually, the supreme court doesn't have jurisdiction over impeachments. That's not to say they will, just that I'm pretty sure they can.

  • The Wii U sold poorly for many of the same reasons I expect the Switch 2 is likely to sell poorly. That is a price increase, not great marketing as far as I can tell, and it being possibly too similar to its predecessor. On the other hand, at least the switch 2 does seem to have a better lineup of launch titles than the Wii U did.
