  • Unless you have close friends or family members playing in the match, any heightened emotionality linked to sports is definitely a sign of shallowness and immaturity. And an angry sports fan? Pfff. My cat is more mature than them and she's a tortie!

  • Jesus warranted being followed even if he didn't perform any miracles... I mean, whatever connection you think he had to God, the man was a brave anti-imperialist and revolutionary thinker (and a proto-feminist/egalitarian too), after all. Then the Romans hollowed out his ideology and the rest is history.

  • That's actually insane. I'm sorry, OP, I don't know how I would deal with it besides just letting time do its thing. And I'm NGL, I don't think I've ever even been in a room with someones as devilish as your ex...

  • Maybe? If she actually had the people's trust and took power in a system that was already far from democratic, simply because she's not a money-worshipping sociopath, I certainly would. It's better than what most of us have gotten as leaders, at least in the West, in recent memory.

However, while I do think a good chunk of the world is in grave need of a radical ideological change and that pretty much all of our wounds are collectively self-inflicted (imagine if people actually believed in being righteous before all and were rightly guided? If people had moral shame? Every imperialist massacre would stop tomorrow...), I don't think we could enforce it, so I truly wonder how necessary it would be for my wife to be a dictator. "Yes, baby, perhaps this area of the world has gone to shit, let's just go somewhere else instead of fighting the wave of zombies and their masters?" is probably what I would say, lol. Regardless, whatever change that I think could justify taking power even if massively unpopular would be to force a change that, sadly, can only to come from within, voluntarily. If we could just find a way to remind people to remember they and others are human, that would be great.

  • Anyone against NATO is against Western imperialism and would be considered a "leftist" by Western standards (just humane and ethical for the rest of the world). I don't see what can be misunderstood here.

  • How would people have intense and verbose arguments then? No, they should implement a system like in /r9k/ back in the day, where every post had to be an original combination of symbols or else you wouldn't be able to post it. Reset the filter every week more or less, depending on traffic, and that should take care of repetitive nonsense!

  • I'm curious, what exactly are you doing more today that you didn't before? And I do believe some behaviours, just for practicality's sake and for our own good (and sometimes for the common good too!), should be a bit curtailed even if they're not "bad". Overall, I'm glad you know yourself better today and that you're enjoying it.

  • I understand, but what are we gonna do with them now? Especially those who deeply regret it? Just incarcerate the entirety of the armed forces for crimes against humanity, starting with those who served in Iraq til today? :/
