  • I mean, it's not like we know who you are IRL, what exactly is the problem? Also, why can't it comfortably be a permanent digital footprint? Have you been posting things that reasonable people would side eye you for?

  • Great idea! But what happens then? There'd be some fear, but more importantly, a certain vacuum of power. How could you make sure another power-hungry, sociopathic populist wouldn't rise? Or, again more importantly, make sure people cannot fall into these traps again, which only happens due to a lack of ideology, generalized ignorance and a belief in 'moral relativism' (among other issues)?

Btw, Frank Herbert explored this in Dune... it requires a virtually immortal prophet! 😅

  • I honestly don't know.

My first thought was hiring PMCs/wet work specialists to take care of some particular people (but what if they get a counteroffer and they change their minds? Even the 5 billion might be nothing compared to what these people could offer and it's not like the people doing this kind of job have a moral compass and care about the great good on average, lol) and put some fear in their hearts. I guess if they don't fear God, they'll certainly fear for their lives (you can't be a hedonist if you're dead after all). But would that work? Would the ones remaining take care of spinning this in a way that brings the proles even closer to them? Trump and his team have been able to do it after all. But this is a necessary step to control public discourse and create enough fear that those at the top fear for their lives, act a little bit better and cannibalize each other at the top in the chaos.

The second step would require/involve making people fear God (believe you'll be judged for your actions by the Merciful, the Gracious after death so you work good deeds and avoid evil). I don't think that's possible, at least not for me. After all, every sort of moral teaching and parable has already been made and it's out there, for free. Maybe if they understood that Voltaire was right, and we'd have to invent God if He didn't exist FOR OUR OWN COLLECTIVE GOOD IN THIS WORLD, maybe that would be enough. But how? Voltaire was right, but I don't have to invent Him, I'd just have to remind people of Him enough (but I'd need a literate populace and that's a dying breed)... Maybe the PMCs should focus on big people in the media and spin but wouldn't someone else just fill their shoes? Anyway, in the end, I don't know, lol. I don't know how to make an impact in the world to make it better in the long term to such a magnitude, not with 5 billion. Maybe 500, and then I'd have some chats with the Chinese to take care of the PMCs before they get out of control or something (they get to showcase/try out their toys, the rest of the world gets rid of an actual/extremely possible danger of military dictatorship).

  • Bodily health-wise? Sure. However, neither nicotine nor caffeine are consciousness-altering substances, unlike alcohol and weed. These ones are dangerous not just because of cirrhosis and lung cancer but mainly because you can become slow/unmotivated at best and violent/unstable at worst, and the capacity to ruin your life and that of others because of one night of strong boozing or a bad salvia trip, for instance, is real compared to smoking many ciggies...

  • Solomon also says to "eat, drink and be merry". There's a difference between a good meal and a glass of wine here and there and the 'eat until you burst or diabetes knocks on your toes, and drink every weekend until you pass out and kill a decent amount of neurons' take seen in places like America and the UK. Oh well. The problem, I think, is that wise people know their limits and respect themselves too much to go too hard and look too stupid (more than a reputation, they're responsible for the example they're giving) but for the 90-99 others, without strict rules and prohibitions, they'll ruin their lives and those of others...

  • Alcohol can be either as bad or worse by far than cannabis. No stoner went home pissed off, had a puff and then beat his wife and kids. Just a small example but if you've lived in this world you know what I'm saying. I guess alcohol is such an integral part of many societies around the world that to examine it objectively and ban it for the same given reasons would kinda crush the lifestyle of billions (and kill those who drink so much they can't stop cold turkey!), and nobody wants to even approach the subject critically because it could only lead to it's prohibition or the decriminalisation of cannabis. And how would the shareholders of major alcohol companies feel???

Also, how would Germanics/Northern Europeans socialize without booze?! They can barely tolerate people/the world as it is, lol.

  • People who understand what UUUU means (or, better said, were there since its conception and contributed to its popularity by shitposting like the rest of us) are my e-tribe, lol. IRL, I'll claim anyone with a conscience. 🤷

  • Unless you're a true sociopath ready to take advantage of the situation, past a certain threshold of intelligence and knowledge being surrounded by MAGAmericans and propaganda aimed at them, and knowing your country can only get worse, must feel like torture.

  • And if I have to ask for an apology, you already fucked up. You don't know what hurts people? No, you're too cowardly to admit to your mistakes. You won't even whisper 'sorry' but you'll hurt my feelings out loud? Mhhhm. 😤

    I'm a sensitive guy, lol.

  • Evil and pain/suffering/discomfort are not the same. Evil has an intention behind it. Where is the evil in dying cause I slipped in the shower, or the evil in crushing your toes cause I'm heavy and inattentive and you're dainty and I accidentally stepped over your feet? At most you could say there's evil in natural disasters, but the world was going from A to B, we just didn't know our world enough and suffered because of it (and that's why now we have seismology!), for instance, but since when does nature have conscience? The world, compared to a garden with no danger no fear like Paradise, is evidently chaotic, but does that mean it's "flawed" or just the only way things could work the way God designed the universe? So, at most I'll accept some disagreement with the fact that God put us in a place that's chaotic, but haven't we risen to the task of understanding and using the universe to our whims? They put a man on the moon!

On the other hand, however, is everything that's man-made. All the evils, from starvation to genocide, from greed to rape, this is all the result of misguided free will. And God teaches us (by the pen, so read) on what we should do to control it/us. You can't possibly put that on God, unless you wanted us to be basically sims/robots...

  • I trigger trolls/stubborn children online, usually with ridicule, and I follow it up with a moral lesson. Besides that, I'm extra silly around my wife, and try to put her in funky situations (random "hey, it's my wife's bday, she would really love it if y'all sang for her", dancing on the street to the beat of the ambulance, nothing too crazy). I'm pretty free and she 'tries to fit in', so it's always fun, at least for me (hehehe).

  • All the time! Words are cheap and everyone enjoys a compliment, especially those with lower self esteem and a myriad of concerns and doubts. But I compliment everyone when the circumstances call for it, from telling my friends I love their shoes (IDC nor do I have an eye for fashion, but I know they do!) to praising my colleagues, telling them how competent they are at what they do etc etc (it's deserved, plus it keeps the machine running smoothly). If you're mentally agile, have read a book and aren't too consumed with your own insecurities, words should come very easily to you, so don't forget to use them!
