  • You've just articulated a feeling I've had most of my life, but couldn't have described better.

    Solving trivial problems for people they could easily do themselves if they just muddled through the work of it. Then act like I'm a genius, when it's really just 'stubbornness' and refusing to admit i can't figure it out.

    Don't know what banning them would accomplish though. Rioters, by definition, are not that concerned with the law.

  • Why play ball with corpo bullshit at all? I have no interest in facebook, meta, any other mainstream, ad-filled social media shit pile. Why give them a chance to fuck up when we KNOW they will fuck up. Because we only end up at square one while Meta steals momentum in a new space?

  • I tried to explain Lemmy to my gf since she was on reddit a lot, but quit for other reasons. Her eyes glazed over, and she gave me a "wow that sounds cool" , like i was our toddler, excitedly telling her about a leaf i saw.

  • I've seen a bunch of "anti-texas" reporting lately that takes things out of context. I think it's just what's getting these sites clicks at the moment. Abbott, and Texas in general, deserve to be shit on regularly, but most of the articles being written are simply trying to rage-bait leftists the way rightwing outlets have been successfully doing for decades.
