  • I like how you frame everyone who disagrees with you as anti-semetic. I wonder what sort of mental gymnastics you'll do to paint the multiple Jewish organizations that took part in the pro-Palestinian rally after the attack as Jew-haters.

Israel is an apartheid state, and the Jewish community in the US is leading the way in teaching us why that nation needs to be dismantled or reined in by the international community.

  • Hamas is the only group in this world standing up for the Palestinian people, so I would support them too, we're I locked up in that open air prison, my family and friends being constantly murdered for profit.

  • If the devs aren't trustworthy, I'm sure as hell not trusting that they didn't add something extra.

  • Since they want it for gaming, Nobara might be a better option. Based on Fedora, but comes bundled with everything they would need for it.

  • I mean, I hope not, but given the US history in the middle east, it wouldn't surprise me. He's not exactly the right person to be complaining about that, though.

  • Legit this was one of the best episodes. Fucking hilarious.

  • Of course it is! But Peter Thiel isn't bipartisan, so idk what that has to do with his involvement in Brave. He self-identifies as far-right. Not leftist, liberal, or independent. And since we're talking specifically about Brave and Thiel, I don't really care about whataboutism in this context.

  • I would appreciate it if conservatives stopped trying to strip away our rights, including the right to privacy.

  • Let's not forget one of the biggest investors is a right-wing billionaire who runs a corporate intelligence agency that contracts with the DoD. And the only proof we have that he doesn't collect data on Brave's users is the questionable word of the devs.

  • I mean, they aren't the only ones. A lot of people, including myself, say that. The better part of a century of oppression, and people are surprised that Palestinians are turning to a fundamentalist religious group to save them? You can only poke a cornered animal for so long before it turns and attacks you. I've got no sympathy for Israel, and I wish nothing but misery on them.

  • I don't really blame them. Were I in their position, I'd probably be doing exactly what they're doing. They're fighting for their existence against a whole world that wants them dead. That's gotta make you feel so hopeless, you stop caring about the humanity of your oppressors. Might as well hurt them as much as possible before they kill you off.

Better than sitting around for Israel to murder you for your land. I wish the Palestinians luck in their fight, and I hope they bring such deep and unwavering sadness to Israel that the very rocks of that defiled land weep blood at their folly.

  • Since when has the US and Western nations welcomed or cared for refugees of any kind? You and I both know you wouldn't have welcomed them even if Hamas hadn't done these things.

  • All violence in Israel and Palestine is directly caused by the Israeli apartheid. It sucks all those innocent people died, but I'm not going to feel sorry for them when they started the fight, and they continued it for 75 years.

  • It's better because you don't have to worry about ratios or finding torrents with seeders. You just download the media at whatever the maximum speed your connection can handle is. So you could, for example, download a 4gb episode for something 30 seconds after Sonarr checks for it.

As for the technical aspects, you don't have to worry too about it, because since you use Sonarr it will handle most of the work, just like it does with torrents. The only problem I've found is there's often not a lot of lower quality stuff on Usenet, so unless you tweak your Sonarr settings you're gonna end up downloading 40gb anime episodes, because that's the first thing Sonarr finds.

  • If it was someplace in Europe, absolutely. I would have zero qualms about ditching this dystopia. Sure, other places have their issues, but few are as bad the the US. With the far right takeover of the Supreme Court, it won't be very long until the "land of the free" is no freer than Russia or China.

  • Can we just talk for a moment about how the elementary school in Salem is called Witchcraft Heights? That's fucking rad.

  • Republic. That's the word you're looking for. We have some democracy, but we're not a democracy.

  • Several people have recommended hiking groups, and that's a really good option. Hikers are generally very friendly people, and you can meet a lot of very interesting people on the trails from all over the world. The United States is also gifted to have many vast and diverse wilderness parks that are federally protected, so you can definitely experience some absolutely wonderful landscapes that might be very different than where you grew up. We also have many thousands of miles of trails, including the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and Continental Divide Trail, each of which is at least 2,100 miles long.

There are also very many other outdoor activities that Americans have long traditions with, so if you want exposed to more of the local cultures, find something to do outside that you've never tried before. Fishing, hunting, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and camping are just a few of the popular ones.

  • I see the quality of life people have when they start approaching 100, and lemme tell you I wouldn't want an extra 20 years of that. Living in the US sucks for healthcare, you're gonna be miserable if you live that long.

  • I don't pirate because I'm opposed to paying for things. I pirate stuff because I don't want to support scumbag corporations that don't give a shit about me. In fact, I buy most of the media and games I consume, in order to support the devs behind it.

And that's not a "new piracy gen", that's how piracy has always been for most people. You're the odd one out here.
