  • 128GB as the baseline is rubbish. Even 256GB is average considering the amount of high quality media we deal with nowadays. The amount of money these companies pull in from "upgrading" your storage is amazing, it costs dollars to upgrade from 128 to 256 but they'll charge you a $100 premium for the privilege

  • Probably had shit parents who never taught them about basic respect and decency when they were growing up (which they'll now pass on to the next generation of dropkicks they squeeze out)

  • There's next to no difference in regards to payroll processing on a week by week basis. Companies want to push this to a fortnight or month so it's easier on their finances. There's very little reason it couldn't be paid weekly.

  • Windows continuously harasses me to upgrade to windows 11 with full screen nags (having to find the little "go away" button, why there's not a single "no fuck off forever" button isn't shown is beyond me)

I can definitely understand the frustration at windows given how it chooses to act sometimes

  • I think most people now when looking at portable gaming devices like these want a seamless experience (like with the Steamdeck)

Windows has proven to be problematic with these devices, where when you use the Steamdeck it's pretty much pick up and play. The ROG ally uses Windows + it's own armory crate software and from what I've heard it's been pretty hit or miss

  • The two sides are:

    • she's correct in what she's claiming
    • she's making it up or it's grossly exaggerated

These are allegations so until there's actual evidence (short of taking what she's saying at face value) the correct response is to wait and see, not reach for pitchforks like Reddit and Twitter have a habit of doing

  • Pretty typical for here to see a post with actual sources and instead of people doing their own research they instead want to downvote and dog-pile. You can be upset with the outcome but there are reasons behind it (and it's not just them jumping on the trans bashing bandwagon, they outlined exactly why it was done and how it works for male-female transitions and vice versa)

  • You could give studios unlimited budgets and they'd still complain they don't have enough time / money to get things right. The rhetoric is that "games are just so complex nowadays" and that justifies their 4/5/6 year development periods.

I'm not seeing the complexity that warrants that type of long development period. The visual fidelity on some games is impressive, but is it actually worth that 5 year dev time?

  • Yeah been noticing it can be pretty hit or miss, the vibe is pretty chill here but people still come out of the woodwork to dog-pile on people. The unverified allegations with LLT / Madison are a perfect example of that
