  • I know specifically for kbin that the topic of what shows up in what section is a point of discussion with the other devs. Getting these things to work "right" is going to be a challenge.

I like the idea of more "metrics" being used to help "weight" the search results. E.g. if you're viewed heaps of content from "magazine A", then content should be surfaced more from that magazine.

I think search / these collections will take a while to get into a really polished state (and it'll change as the site grows)

  • It's a continual fight, these companies have to be dragged, kicking and screaming to do what's best for the consumer. That's pretty much the defacto way of running a business nowadays considering it's all about record profits year on year.

  • without requiring the use of specialized tools

That's a big one. Nice to see it covered. Negates any silly "well you just need to buy our $200 disassemble kit" nonsense you know would have been there otherwise

  • I'm sure we'll see plenty of skirting the laws around these batteries. "well actually, out barriers are removable and easily accessible if you do XYZ"

Any time there's regulations there's always a raft of companies saying how it's going to put them out of business, yet they'll all stick around and continue to make sales, almost like they need to adapt to changing environments.

  • appliances should be removable

I see a "should" there instead of a "must". I assume this legislation will have teeth yeah?

  • Eventually I'm assuming sites will need to implement some type of auto mod system when they get to scale. It's only a matter of time before bots and bad actors see these sites as valuable targets

  • Terrible situation, even if you're in the "well it's Russia so stuff them" camp. Countries moving to their own Internet is a terrible situation, one we've seen before with China and their deep censorship of online media.

  • You should feel proud, here's a medal 🥇

  • Sweet. I remember using these tokens ages ago, should of kept a few, but instead I fed them all to games 🕹️

  • The hardest part is the interactive, especially coming from say for example Reddit where you'd realistically have hundreds of comments on every thread. The overall quality was pretty average but it was nice to see that volume

  • Be keen to see how it turns out when these boys go at each other.

  • It's like the steam summer sale, except instead of bargains it's exploits!

  • Interesting to see how that turns out for them 💪

  • Oddly enough, I managed to find some really cheap gum. Usually $4.50 on sale at the shops but I got 6x bottles / packs of it for 12 bucks. Pretty happy finding little bargains like that!

  • It's got some nice icons so that's a plus, but I think it's the font weight and sizes that throw it off, it feels "thick"

  • Nice looking icon for sure. Fancy

  • How's newpipe compared to sometime like revanced? Anyone given both a go?

  • “If any windfall was to come to Mineralogy, the funds would be used for public good.”

I wouldn't trust a word palmer says, any profits will go straight into this pockets

  • Keen on the mixed dwellings, much more realistic. I wonder if they'll just be a single level of commercial and the rest residential or if it'll be dynamic. There's some big complexes with multiple levels of commercial followed by a big highrise on top

  • That's one of the most glaring issues I see with activityPub. The Reddit style, I'm going to block you because your follow XYZ sub mentally.

I've got no solution for it besides hiding which places federate with who, but by looking at the content you'd be about to make an educated guess anyway
