  • Looking good!

My seedlings are arriving next week and hopefully I can start growing soon. Still haven't actually built anything to grow in but it is on my todo list. Some tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, and bunch of greens. Not much space here but I have a small backyard that should do the trick.

  • I used TiddlyWiki (self hosted) extensively for like three years but now as I changed jobs I want to get start using just a bunch of markdown files. Editing with VS code on desktop and Markor on mobile.

Unfortunately no syncing yet because I keep my work documents in my work account's onedrive and can't sync it with my phone. I think there are apps that do it but I'd have to go through IT to get permission etc so haven't done that yet

Now all I need to find is a good method for searching throughmy markdown files. The search on vs code is alright but I'd like some thing that I can quickly pull up with global shortcut like ctrl alt s or something. Maybe I'll just make a python program to do it for me or try to find something ready-made.

  • Considering starting to play Tekken 7, got it from sale for like 5e a year ago or so but never actually played it much (like 2h). Thought that it would be a good start if I want to play Tekken 8 in the future.

Maybe today is the day I get smashed online relentlessly for hours.

  • Basically he is giving you info on how to interpret the result you got. A t-test (Student's t-test) gives a "p-value" which sometimes comes up in some articles regarding a statistical result. It is a way of assessing whether the result you got is different enough from the expected value (a fair die) taking into account that you can't throw the dice an infinite amount of times. Generally a p-value less than 0.05 is considered statistically significant* and you can trust your result.

You can do the calculation here too if you want to get some values about it and more info.

*) Sort of means that there is only a 5% probability that your result is due to randomness.

  • Yeah I've heard that xwayland is not great. But I did not have any factorial scaling, just normal 100%, nevertheless I did test esr and the standard one, though the standard is definitely a flatpack. Also just the text on the settings window was blurry so I don't think that was the issue.

  • Yeah and rebooted but it didn't help. The settings window did state that some settings require reboot / relogging.

If I keep having the issue after reinstall I'll make a new thread about it and maybe get some new ideas.

  • Try out different plant based milks (oat, soy and almond al least), but start with barista versions, they're usually higher in fat content and do not curdle as easily.

They're all very different and brands differ quite a bit, so you might need to do some experimenting. Check your go-to grocery stores and see what they have the most of. 10 brands of oat milk? Probably a good starting point.

  • Man, I just installed debian 12 with wayland (Gnome or KDE can't remember) to play around and get instant headache from blurry fonts with my 1440p display with no scaling (Firefox and settings window are blurry af). No clue how to fix it, tried out few of the things I found online and none of them works.

Next plan is to try another distro and hope for the best.

  • Yes, good points. I really should've been more clear in the post that I do not mean that everything relating to technique is fluff and that nothing matters; blooming being one of the big ones. Merely that if you take a 10 common methods you find, you'll get the same output after you optimize temps and grind.
