  • I wish they'd fix and release the nightly. It so cool looking

Are there any screenshots of the nightly? I'm curious if it looks good enough to switch back.

  • This doesn't seem targeted towards actually privacy-conscious people. There's too much abstraction and funneling you through their services. I think it's targeted to people who think they want to be private but don't know any better.

  • Maybe I should say which new ones haha. It's getting hard to find sadly.

  • You're spot on. I pay enough to YouTube TV for NFL games. I wasn't paying any more for this one.

  • Ahhh! What app are you using? I use Thunder which uses Custom Tabs which basically means it uses your default default browser but without leaving the app.

  • It's ok I don't actually think the customizable remote comes with any TV or box. You have buy it after market from their site.

  • You have to have the remote with the 1 and 2 buttons. Then just press and hold them and it should give you the option to assign an action like launching an app.

  • Interesting, I didn't see any (aside from links to other articles on the same site).

  • Do you need any other Apple devices to make good use of an Apple TV?

  • I have the remote with two shortcut buttons, so I can map them to my favorite apps and never see the homescreen. It's actually pretty nice!

  • Maybe I'm not using all of Roku's features but the only ad I see is the one box on the right of the homescreen. To me that's much less intrusive than the full screen stuff I see on Google TV or Fire Stick.

  • Thanks!

Unfortunately a lot of these are Apple-only and/or just RSS readers. I'll miss Artifact's algorithm.

  • Out of curiosity, can you give an example of this? I would think the "real identity" of people on Lemmy wouldn't matter nearly as much as on a people-focused platform like Mastodon or Twitter/X. Plus, icons can be faked and there's no concept of a verified identity, so the username is the best indicator of identity anyway.
