Because this guy needs more attention and validation for being a giant piece of shit.

I'm always doing something else while watching a movie. I often rewind 30 seconds because I missed something important. But I find most movies have so much that I don't care about... So I focus on whatever else until I realize that I've missed something.

For like 5 seconds, then they'll try again. Just like Microsoft's windows 11 spyware.

There either a lot of Trekkies, or a few that post a lot of content. Either way, I get a chuckle, even if Star Trek isn't my thing.

We need someone to post content for our endless doom scrolling, right?

I tried MacOS on my work machine for a couple of years, because everyone says how easy is. It never clicked for me. It felt like the short cuts all needed another key. It was also unintuitive for me. Of course that could be because I grew up on Windows. Either way, I did not like it.

Linux is crazy easy to install and really cool that you can run a live USB so easily. It's also secure, stable, can run on garbage hardware, and has a thousand cool flavors. Intuitive and easy for (Mint, Ubuntu, etc.) common stuff. An absolute minefield to install soooo many things- if they even can work. I just want to double click shit and then run it. Much of that is on Microsoft for making things a challenge on purpose.

Windows gets more intrusive and obnoxious every year, but it runs almost everything I need.

Never really tried iOS. I don't like the idea of being locked down.

Android can do a lot of cool stuff, but gets more intrusive every year too. So I run that for now.

Some day I'll probably try some other OS on my phone, but I have less patience and time every day.

At home, I run Linux on one machine, Windows on another, hoping to cut ties with Windows entirely, but probably won't ever get there.

Those are like three of our nations most successful programs.

Also, hundreds of billions is like a couple of aircraft carriers and a stealth bomber.

Those 100 companies have made it so it's incredibly difficult not to buy from them.

Groceries? There's like 10 companies that own all of the food supply. Good luck figuring out which one's have child labor, and a horrendous environmental impact. They've very purposely masked that image.

Oh wow, everything is recyclable! No, those companies just slapped that logo on all of their products so we can ignorantly wish-cycle their garbage. Most of it ends up in the landfill.

Don't want a car? Our cities are very deliberately designed to require cars. There is a very strong private agenda against good public transportation.

Then there's the pollution. These companies pollute so much more than we know. Whether that's dumping forever chemicals into our water, or taking private jets everywhere. It's not like the label on your T-shirt tells you that.

Finally find a good company? They'll buy it up, lobby against it, or coerce them out of business. Just look how many companies Luxottica has destroyed.

There's layer after layer of obfuscation to hide what these companies are doing. It's not just a matter of picking Product A over Product B. We rarely have much choice, or the information to make better choices.

Good idea, but that doesn't appear to be it either.

Same problem on another machine. It seems so strange that I've had this happen before with a different brand, and that the vertical works normally.

This mouse is probably 4 years old fwiw.

I had many teeth ruined by a crooked dentist. I didn't need any dental work for fifteen years after I changed dentists.

I don't know why there aren't government stings for dentists and mechanics. We have them against restaurants and bars all the time.

My wife used to get all grumpy with high school kids (and sometimes even adults) trick or treating. I told her, I'm glad to see anyone that still has that spirit and energy. And if they don't have costumes... They probably can't afford them. Worst case, they're doing something better than the trouble they could be up to.

... But fuck those people that take the whole bowl at houses with no one home.

Yep. I just heard about the liberal hell scape that is California and it's EV's that are destroying their highway system. Now California is charging 30 cents a mile in taxes to compensate for fuel tax losses. A non-idiot might take a few seconds to realize that's the equivalent of $9 per gallon in taxes.

Another idiot complained about green energy destroying the country because "what do we do when the sun goes down or the wind stops?! Blackouts! We need coal energy!"

These people are dumb as rocks.

Double checked and all of the drives are basic. I'm very confused as to what is different between the disks that readable and the ones that aren't.

I've even tried multiple distros. Same scenario.

It was a good theory, but no luck. I'm perplexed on this one.

How does Joplin hold up with larger files? I've just been using Google docs, which I don't like for several reasons. One of which, is that it gets really choppy when you hit 100+ pages.
