  • He's pardoned his own citizen gestapo. No matter what they do, he can just pardon them. Even if the police arrest them, they can just get pardoned.

White militia groups are now empowered to do whatever the fuck they want.

  • If you want to be completely reductionist, then sure. They were trying to show that Trump was so upsetting that people were crossing party lines to vote Democrat....not that Democrats have becomes so centrist that they attracted right-wingers. And the economy has been great, they're not wrong. The Democrat platform was also fantastic: $6k child tax credit, $25k first time home buyer assistance, tax reforms replacing the corporate tax rate to 28%< and taxing the rich, capping medication costs, union support, pushing reproductive rights, climate action, immigration reform. They had a STRONG platform.

....but that wasn't good enough. So they elected the billionaire conman that is putting up his billionaire cronies. That's going to help the economy. Like....could the Democrat message have been better? Sure, but it wasn't bad by any means.

But how are you supposed to argue with someone who doesn't operate on facts?

  • My concern with statements like this is that I don't think your considering the impact that misinformation had on this election.

There were massive disinformation campaigns that had sizable effects on the dialogue that people had with their friends and neighbors. I'm worried that we could have actually put someone like Bernie as our nominee and that we still would have lost because of exactly this misinformation.

The Democrat message wasn't making it to people and I think that it really shows...

  • No. It's not. How people are going to be able to afford food, is a problem. How people are going to be able to afford housing, is a problem. How are people going to be able to pay off their debt. You know...real problems affecting literally hundreds of thousands of Americans...not whether or not an extremely marginalized group can play a highschool sport. You are a pawn being used to erode our rights, and you play right into it.

  • As a progressive, this is why I hate other progressives. Nothing is ever good enough. No progress is ever perfect enough. Why mix the batter when we want cake right now!?

The worst enemy of a progressive isn't conservatives....it's other progressives kneecapping them because they can never be happy about a fucking thing. It's shortsighted AF.

  • Like, I get it...I get their issues with capitalism. But it's not like socialism won't have it's own problems.

Personally, I'd rather not go through a bloody civil war in order to inact a new system, because I know that my children are going to be the ones that have to suffer that nightmare. I'd much rather try to fix the problems of our current system than start from the beginning with a brand new one.

  • Two questions, because I'm going to try something similar hear soon: 1.) Do you process the jam somehow? How do you get it to layer smoothly? I'm assuming you'd heat it up. Wouldn't that mess with the mousse outside, or do you build the core separately and then creat the outside after?

2.) the mousse layer looks like icecream, how did you get that mousse cake so smooth?

3..) what is champagne jelly? Is it literally champagne with enough pectin to create a jelly out of it?

Lastly, are you a chef? Not many people would go out of there way for such an intricate cake. Looks fantastic! How was the flavor? Was it too rich?

  • Yeah, in the interest of not having a bloody, civil war, I'd rather try to correct the economic paradigm that we have rather than instill a new one that will have its own set of unique and terrible problems (for example, see nomenklatura).

The chaos that will arise from the transition will be deadly, terrifying, and profound. It is not something I wish my children to have to go through. So, yeah....of course I'd rather work to fix the system that we have.

  • The phrase "are ethically wrong" is hilarious. According to whose code of ethics? How are their ethics more moral than someone else's set of ethics?

There's literally entire branches of philosophy dedicated to the concept of morals and the concepts of good and evil.

Edit: Also, to add on to this, something can be ethically right but morally wrong, or ethically wrong but morally right.

  • I'm so fucking done with it, that I just assume everyone behind me is too. I happily hit that "No tip" button. Unless you provided an active service for me, or went above and beyond to get me something, then why do you deserve a tip? I have to pay you extra money for you to do your job correctly?

  • No....not everyone hates capitalism. Everyone hates uncontrolled capitalism.

Socialism isn't some magical bandaid that will make everything better. It has a shit ton of it's own problems and downfalls...nearly all of which are conveniently glossed over by leftists.

  • Men that have been captured by the "alpha" and "masculinity" culture don't realize that it makes them fucking radioactive. They are literally the reason why women choose the bear. Boys thinking that they have to be hyperbolic, over-aggressive, possessive, manipulative assholes in order to be a "man" are the exact reason that they are lonely.

These men don't have a god given right to just "have" a girlfriend.
