  • I was curious what Arweave was, so I went to their site.

Turns out it's yet another crypto scheme.

I thought this statement on their landing page was particularly funny:

The Arweave protocol is stable, mature and widely adopted.

  • Google ... president of global affairs Kent Walker said ... “As this process continues, we will remain focused on making products that people find helpful and easy to use.”

Very fucking easy to use. You need find undocumented URL parameters to remove the AI answers from their search engine.

  • Thanks for the clarification, I misunderstood.

Smotrich was born in Golan Heights and never seemed to have lived in Ukraine (and I am guessing he doesn't speak Ukrainian?).

Why would we "take him back"? :)

And what's he going to do in Ukraine anyway?

Don't think he has what it takes to fight the russians.

It's one thing to demolish Gaza and another thing to fight against a strong, well equipped and deadly enemy.

  • I agree in principle with what you are saying, but this particular statement is very brutal considering this is an official statement from a senior Israeli government leader.

  • Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich implies he believes that blocking humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip is “justified and moral” even if it causes 2 million civilians to die of hunger, adding however that the international community won’t allow this to happen.

I personally avoid "taking sides" (we have our own problems in Ukraine) in what wikipedia calls the Israel–Hamas war, but this is a full on open call for genocide.

  • Gaming laptops (especially 17 inch devices) tend to have removable wireless networking cards.

  • Given a sufficient amount of text, the method is said to be 99.9 percent effective.

If that's really the case, they should release some benchmarks. I am skeptical. Promising the world is a key component of their "business model".

  • It may be not news for you (or for me), but it could be news for the average American geezer, :)

  • I can also recommend Ed Zitron's blog, it's good stuff, very in-depth and lots of alternative sources.

  • Any proof or just speculation?

    Read their privacy policy.

While it is written in a seemingly pro-consumer manner, if you get down to the basics, there are two main points:

    1. They can and do collect absolutely any and all information
    2. They can and do share all this information with 3rd parties with it benefits them
  • That's a lot of blow, I don't think 17,000 people would be able to go through $4.5 billion worth of cocaine in 3 months.

  • $4.5 Billion loses in a single quarter! Where is all this money going?

  • I am willing to bet they won't stop security updates for W10 next year.

  • Now we can find out who is working with the Winklewii twins.

  • Wasn't implying it was hidden knowledge.

I was thinking about the zeitgeist of different generations in context of computing.

  • This is pretty cool, although it makes me feel old.

I can't imagine anyone younger than 30 would even get what this article is about.

  • This was a general comment, not aimed at you. Honestly, it wasn't my intention to accuse you specifically. Apologies for that.
