  • You just reminded me that my therapist sent me a mood wheel, too. I ended up ignoring it because it was color coded lol.

But in that same packet she sent me some grounding techniques to try, and that's actually been really useful for me to pull out of a meltdown. Box breathing is my favorite one, but seriously there's so many to try

  • Maybe stop trying to use words. Use colors or textures, make a little posterboard and work through what looks or feels right in her head. Meaning, if dark blue means she's scared, or if green means she's frustrated that's okay. Don't just go with red= angry if that didn't feels right for her. Let her use as many colors or textures as she needs to get her point across.

It's also really important to include what she wants from you on this board. Like, just shut up for an hour, or hold her, or go to the store and get her favorite soda. This is just to help her build trust that she can have some control in an uncomfortable situation. Right now she might not really have that, and may be why she's landed on avoidance

Use it while physically together, but also take a picture so a screenshot can be shared with little edits over what she's associated with her feelings.

When I'm overstimulated by emotions I have an internal meltdown that can graduate to external if I'm being pushed. I absolutely can't think of words in that state, and often I'm afraid to even express myself in those moments.

  • Green is in the northwest corner of Wisconsin.

Yellow is honestly a terrible color choice for this map, because the pronunciation isn't truly regional. I think it's clustered along the edges of a few different red areas, mostly on the east coast and some Southern areas.

I actually think the author's note about it being a merging of pronunciation makes sense, because I was raised in a transitional Southern dialect but my parents both have an east Midland dialect

  • Chaos gardening is life! I did a research experiment last year on a plant that is native to my state, but has largely been eradicated by local ranching and farming practices. I've fucking delighted in finding chaotic people who are willing to throw whatever remaining seeds I have wherever they can. If that's the power we have, let's use it!

  • My grandparents had this wonderful antique sleigh-style bed frame in their guest room. It had a couple horizontal rods on the foot side that was perfect for hanging the comforter and a quilt on to air out. Had totally forgotten about that until your comment, now I kinda want to get one lol

  • I can't see Trump firing her, because she knows exactly how to play the game. Bongino is acting like his honest opinion matters, but the only thing that matters is framing things in a way that Trump finds flattering

    Edit:

“Since you have been in office, President Trump, your DOJ agencies have seized more than 22 million fentanyl pills, 3,400 kilos of fentanyl, which saved—are you ready for this, media?—258 million lives.” Yes, she turned to the camera for the aside to the media.

  • I absolutely hate my side-by-side. Can't fit a frozen pizza, the veggie drawers can barely hold a few days worth of vegetables. Had to move my water pitcher to a shelf because the door shelves are so small, but that also meant taking a shelf out of the fridge.

I'm getting the same style you have, and I'm super excited lol

  • My family voted against Gore because they thought he was a "climate nut", and how dare he "try to take their bread and butter". I won't make you guess where they made money, it's the car industry.

I imagine they're strutting around super proud of themselves after this bill.

  • I guess my experience is that many apartments don't have carpet through much more than bedrooms now. Heck, one I looked at yesterday has zero carpeting, and this is a place with very cold winters.

My young male cat has a large 6x6 kennel that he goes into while I'm out, and he doesn't even pee on anything, but I guess most people wouldn't be willing to do that. (he just constantly tries it on with that elderly cat I mentioned above and that's not good for anyone lol)

  • It's interesting that they won't let him go to a rental home.

But also, cat diapers are ridiculous. I have yet to find one that fits properly, my elderly cat always gets one or both of her legs stuck when she rises from a nap
