  • Sadly, the certificate program I'm doing requires either Mac or Windows. I'm considering picking up an old Macbook Air for it just to not deal with Windows bullshit, but I already have a second SSD in my computer with Windows, whereas a sufficiently powerful MacBook would be around $200 used unless I can find one from Free Geek for a bit less.

  • Because they also may or may not have been available in the boys room. I think that was initially the intention but, well, some teenage boys are going to be dumbasses with menstrual products.

    EDIT:

As for the latest round of name calling, it seems the aspect of the Minnesota law that has conservatives most agitated is its language: the law states that pads and tampons must be available to “all menstruating students” and “in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12.” A failed attempt to amend the bill to only name “female restrooms,” did not keep it from passing as is with bipartisan support.

  • Ooh, what's your favorites? I'm not a teetotaler, but I don't sleep as well after drinking so most of the time I'd rather just have an NA beer. I've never been a fan of IPAs, unfortunately, so I'm pretty meh on most of Athletic's offerings. My favorite is from a local brewery (Bauhaus Brew Labs) called Nah, it's a non alcoholic Helles.

  • I could honestly see the appeal of a way for the toilet to analyze your poop and tell you that you should be eating more fiber or that you need to see a doctor because it's seen X, Y, and Z symptoms. It's like the joke about German toilets being so you can monitor your health, but with much less of the nastiness.

Of course, we can't have nice things and you'll just get ads for Metamucil or the colorectal-cancer-from microplastics law firms in the style of mesothelioma lawyers.

  • I'm in favor of individual communities making that decision for themselves, but it would be cool if there were any artists and graphic designers (even just people who are legit decent as a hobby, not comic sans graphic design is my passion) willing to donate their time to make that happen.

Here in the Agora is a good place to start. We could pass around a hat and pay for it, or wait for someone to volunteer. Or we could just decide the AI banner and icon are fine for now.

  • Walz is more likely to deliver Wisconsin and maybe Michigan, which are also valuable. (And like the other commenter, I also question the ability of a VP pick to reliably deliver their home state.) Wisconsin seems to really like Walz as much as we do here in Minnesota. And I think he does well in Pennsylvania, Walz has the vibes of an older and more mellow version (but not as old as he looks, school lunchroom duty will age anyone) of what we all thought Fetterman would be. Walz is from a small town, is a former national guardsman and high school football coach, and iirc used to enjoy hunting. He appeals to working class, blue collar voters in ways very few other Democrats can. He's also involved with the national party (possibly the convention), someone on TikTok knew something was up with Biden just before he dropped out because Walz flew to DC to meet with Biden. The establishment Democrats like him and so do the progressives - he's exactly who we need right now.

Also, he's the reason we're all calling Republicans weird.
