  • The idea of a revolution that leads to a dictatorship of the proletariat is inherently flawed.

Not all Communists are Marxist-Lenninists or Stalinist... But obviously Lenin and Stalin were. Non-ML Communists would agree with you.

  • Lol ya right?!

The NSDAP was a real socialist party.

The Democratic Peoples Republic of North Korea is actually democratic and governed by the people.

  • I know it's a meme but if your points are this reductive you might not be making an intelligent or rational argument.

  • Do people just yolo out the door to their vacation?

My charger, like everything else, is on my travel checklist.

  • I read this a decade ago and it was very helpful for me then

  • At least I don't have to keep saying deebeezer in my head anymore

  • It's ok. Lots of very young people talking a lot about things they don't understand like its a fact.

  • I love that they haven't really fucked with it too much. It's still the same basic design principles modernized over time. I was worried Lenovo would ruin the line but personally I feel they're still some of the best machines out there..

  • Devils Advocate: There are always concessions in demands. If you make realistic demands you won't achieve your goals. The movement should ask for everything. Wins from offshoot initiatives will be made in small steps over time as you progress to the ultimate goal. Realism floats somewhere in the between. Also what is unrealistic today with no movement becomes gradually more realistic as you reach closer to your goals. Movements like this should look long term too.

  • Oh, ok. Hope you find what you're looking for.

  • Someone before me answered the question quite well. No need to repeat it.

  • I've lived in both US and Canada.

In Canada, my mother had cancer stayed in a private room for weeks until she died and we only paid for the phone bill for her room and parking. I didn't get a bill from the hospital at all. No claims on insurance.

I had a baby in 2021 and again my wife had a private room while she recovered from her C section and my infant was in the NICU for a week. No bill from the hospital, no claims on insurance. Just paid for parking.

My wife who is type 1 diabetic had 100% of her needs covered through the ontario healthcare system.

I hear stories that in Ontario you have to wait for non-urgent care due to Premier Doug Ford not paying nurses enough, but I have not seen this personally.

I had work coverage that provided dental, vision, and drug coverage if needed.

In the US, I'm 100% dependent on work provided benefits AND I have to pay $4k a year for those benefits. Wife went for some routine work done and it was covered by work insurance. In ontario it would have been a no cost thing too, no dealing with insurance. We wouldn't have waited in Ontario, we didn't wait here either.

There seem to be waits here for specialists. Haven't had to go to the hospital for anything yet.

  • Glad it wasn't just me. Wow I'll never click a tumblr link again

  • Gee Cyn, why didn't you start years ago then

  • Enable nat loopback on your router

  • All execs sell their own stock all the time. You're just aware of it today for one company so it seems like an issue.

Riccitiello has 3 million shares. He sold 2k (.06%) recently and 50k (1.5%) YTD.

You should also be made aware that when you are identified as a director of a company, trades like this are generally automatically scheduled due to MNPI regulations.

Tim Apple sells about a million shares of AAPL every year, while holding roughly 3M continuously. Likely all pre-planned on a schedule.

  • Many company boards (of which CEOs sit at) have requirements where they must vest a minimum dollar amount into acquiring company shares. The purpose of this is to ensure they have an interest in the success of the stock and thereby the success of the company.

These same companies will then additionally have blackout periods typically 30 days before the announcement of quarterly earnings where employees are restricted from selling shares.

Not sure what unity's board rules are but if they are a public company it should be in their investors materials, annual reports, etc

  • yeah at the time you were forced into it. the won servers were shut down and most peoples computers werent good enough to play CS and have this clunky software running in the background at the same time. it worked but alt-tabbing back then was a gong show and you definitely had the performance hit.

i played CS daily then so the first day was a shit show and I dont think I got much time in that day. mostly just trying to get connected...the servers were overloaded.
