  • I'm partial to a recursive solution. Lol

     python

    def is_even(number):
        if number < 0 or (number%1) > 0:
            raise ValueError("This impl requires positive integers only")
        if number < 2:
            return number
        return is_even(number - 2)

  • Hahaha, yeah that's the literal translation of what I said.

    So to break it down: Puta - curse word, means literally prostitute, is used as an exclamation of amusement or exhaustion at a situation by itself - kinda like saying "god damn"

    Salto lejos el maní - literally the peanut jumped far. Used in the same way as all the other idioms here to say mind your own business or keep it to yourself.

  • If by coup you mean the rich trying to get richer, yeah the resistance worked.

    The problem came afterwards, when the people were handed the power to actually change something it became a circus.

    So the rich didn't get the chance to make ridiculous changes like in the US right now. But all we were left with was status quo.

  • Oh yeah cause it went so well for Chile. There was a government turnover and it fragmented the political parties so much that no one can agree on anything anymore.

    Oh and the new people in power are learning by improvising.

    Source: I am from Chile.

  • Freedom of Choice Act: Joe Manchin (D) voted against, nullifying the tie breaker effect that the VP (D) would've had.

    Reproductive Freedom for Women Act: Bill was introduced too late, killed on Jan 3rd 2025 as it still hadn't reached the senate floor by presidential turnover. Certainly feels like it was on purpose. It's not like senators don't know how long bills take to pass.

    Women's Health Protection Act: Joe Manchin (D) voted against, nullifying the tie breaker effect that the VP (D) would've had.

    Ensuring Access to Abortion Act: Never passed the 60 vote threshold.

    Freedom to Travel for Health Care: Never passed the 60 vote threshold.

    You got more? Keep them coming. I can keep showing you how Democrats torpedo their own bills and then blame the Republicans to keep the status quo and keep fundraising off of us.

    Yeah for the last two there, the filibuster is the culprit. But Democrats also had the opportunity to get rid of it with Biden and didn't. So then you deal with it, keep bringing the bill on the floor till you get cloture.

    But at least they don't try to set everything on fire. Still the better option. But still not great.

  • How does it break rule 1? Are you watching OP and reading their mind to know for sure they didn't think of this while in the shower?

    Also this community is actively asking for more mods. They're saying they're not active enough to do it all.
