Reminds me of when Sam Bankman Freid (FTX Crypto guy) said he was surprised it only cost him lile $50k to buy off a politician or something. And the Oceangate CEO apparently said that if someone complains about the safety of his sub he'll just "buy a senator".

World powers typically let countries do whatever they want to their own citizens, it's only when they do stuff to people of other countries that they get involved.

The best explanation I've heard is imagine an ant. All it really does is gather food, eat food, protect the queen, you know, simple stuff. Then it comes across a circuit board. And suddenly the ant is filled with knowledge of how the circuit board works, what electricity is and how the components all work together. Then it goes back to being just an ant again, but it still kind of remembers that knowledge but can't understand any of it anymore. And now it has to try to go on being just an ant again.

Damn I'm sorry dude. Something similar happened to me, was out of a job for a month, applied to a bunch of stuff on indeed and found something. Start time is super early so that sucks :/ hoping to find something else eventually while I got some income.

I do green peppers and asparagus, green but not so much leafy lol, along with a sweet onion. Meal prep that stuff on Sunday and my lunches for the week are all taken care of. It's like one of the few areas of my life I feel like I'm doing pretty well in.

Soda is really expensive. Ben & Jerry's is pricey. Gatorade is expensive. Brand name cereal is expensive. Etc... they aren't buying fresh fruit, rice, refried beans, you know, things that are still pretty reasonably priced but don't taste as good.

Used to use RiF, stopped when the api bullshit went down and all I use are lemmy and Facebook now.

Half of those literally only show up if you're on them when you get the test lol
