Meta is a rebranding to draw attention away from whistleblowers. Universes with people creating and collaborating is called modded videogames with low barriers to coding (Minecraft, Skyrim, etc.). Taking it into VR with vendor lock in is Facebook's only hope.

I have not made mod tools before. I know the ones in reddit used the API, and were open source. Perhaps thos are in process of being ported./?

Edit: based on that post, you probably want fastmail to selfhost. Now the official API of mail clients is jmap, so it may not be "rest" and you may not be able to find a "reliable" rest api

My understanding is that when a house is on fire,

• the water damage from the firefighters cause damage.

Dude. A backup in the same computer is not a "backup". You should have a separate network attached storage (nas) and a script like syncthing backing up to a different hard drive (the nas). If you don't want to do it yourself, you can buy a all in one device that has the software and hard drive all in one.

This response is frustrating. A company can have pressure put on and change actions more than "can everyone just spend 5 minutes". To put pressure back on a consumer who does not have the ability to purchase time (via more employees) to handle the load of "5 more minutes" means that only the crazy will think they can make a difference.
