Im just reading the article, and remembering the whole domestic abuse campaign the dress produced. Think this just really drove the point home for sure.
I think a lot of the issue is that softbank had the idea of if they can invest a bit and get a good amount of growth, how about they invest a ton more from the outset and "guarentee" insane growth. They did that with a few startups and it worked, then they did it with WeWork and it spectacularly backfired. The basic premise of WeWork was pretty sound until the real estate market started going up in price, which kind of blew up the margins that WeWork lived in. That and a frankly financially crazy CEO kind of ruined it.
Or maybe planting a bunch of trees and properly managing them might. We know there is definitely a huge need for them (at the very least as a carbon sink and cooling the surroundings), and that there will be issues keeping them from from having fires in future, but the benefits to planting a billion (even if they very clearly are planting that many as a bit of an attention getter) are numerous and can outweight the risk.
Plus when you have a particularly bad day, you can say, this shows I did something today worthwhile. Even if it's a small thing, sometimes you just need that little thing.
Well, maybe you'll get lucky, nothing really to lose by it.
That sucks about the greens though, they're such a good way to provide some variety to your diet. Hopefully there will be plenty closer to the end of the season.
Good luck with the corporate app, the ones that suck really always need help (sometimes it's a mess, but if they're paying it wouldn't be too huge a deal). I always have loved making some good salads from garden greens (I have always enjoyed gardening, so I would get cheap seeds from dollar general or a feed store), generally pretty quick and easy to clean up after. Does your nearby food bank have any greens?
Just started a new job a few weeks ago, feels super nice to be able to get groceries without constantly budgeting on everything. I was in a similarly financially quarantined situation to yourself for about a year (honestly that term might be the best way to put it), so it is a really nice change. This weekend I have been doing some repairs, some grocery shopping, and am hoping to trip tomorrow, provided I have an empty house (still live with my parents until I can earn enough to go lease somewhere).
I think it's not a case of the software not being perfect, but that they are actively breaking in live environments, where it is amazingly critical that they not break. If that is an issue, then they need to get to such a level of confidence were they don't need to worry about breaking, which tesla is apparently not at currently.
A lot aren't, which was a large part of people that were protesting (they are part timers therefore not union members, and in a lot of them make around half as much union employees with no benefits).
Looks at people on the other side of the divide, ranting about the latest conspiracy theory, very against abortion (to the point of stoning women who want an abortion), saying that slavery was beneficial towards slave's skill sets, wanting to expand child labor because "No oNe Wants to woRk aNYmoRe" (rather than no one paying enough, which seems to be the real reason):
Please don't, the misunderstanding is common, and it just reinforces the point of the rebuttal. I've seen sooo many anti CP laws trying to be forced through congress, but most of it is just bullshit surveillance or drm stuff but it gets the support from people like you who (understandably) hear about the propagation of CP and support stopping it via those laws.
But car company profit margins! The last couple of years have kinda been great for a lot of car manufacturers, increasing prices, basically only having higher end models in stock (mostly because they generally take longer to move, which they began to en mass when the car market went to hell), and basically moving directly to evs moving forward, which are inherently more expensive (at least for now). Personally, I kind of like the idea of phevs like the 2nd Gen Chevy volt and the new prius, as they make the transition to electric easier and are generally cheaper to manufacture. Then after more charging stations are available, moving more and more to evs. Not trying to be a gas shill, but I just can't see getting an ev right now because of the whole charging mess (the only mostly reliable stations I've heard of are the Tesla ones) and the cost.
I mean, it is a pretty big change for some. I've been vegetarian for a few years now, but I still remember how much of a change in what I ate it was at the time. It helps a ton if you know how to cook, and find new recipes that use tofu or other meat alternatives.
But that's the thing, Trump, despite being a terrible person and president, was genuinely pretty popular with his voter base. They will more than likely come out to vote, despite his popularity declining a bit. However, Biden, while being a relatively sane, levelheaded president, is not really popular. His VP isn't particularly liked (bad pr or not, that is an issue) and a lot of his voter support seems to be, "well, at least he isn't Trump. " I find that incredibly scary, as it means in my mind that Biden being re-elected isn't such a slam dunk as a lot of the DNC seems to project.
I was just in there for oil and a filter to change my cars oil, largely because it was cheaper than going somewhere and was I broke at the time. I've shopped at Aldi for years mostly because their food is much cheaper for comparable items, and despite being to several that were very sketchy, I've never had someone walk up to me and beg in a store. Parking lots are a different matter, but in pretty much every Walmart I've been to over the last couple of years (again, I basically try to not now that I can afford it), the amount of not giving a fuck by everyone involved is kind of extreme. And the prices aren't even that great now either.
Or hiking! I have read a frankly ridiculous amount of audiobooks while doing other stuff like exercising. It also lowers my anxiety and can help a bit with depression (if that is anyone's issue).
But then you have to go to Walmart. The only I store I have had a homeless person come up to me and beg for change IN THE STORE was Walmart. Aldi or Lidl are infinitely better in my mind.
Should work the same, so long as you cut smallish holes on the autoclave bags the moisture will remain pretty decent. The more finicky bit is making sure there is enough FAE (fresh air exchange) as well. Would open the bags at least once a day, fan it, mist and close back. Also, not really much of a winter project, more of a late spring through autumn one.
The only issue is that different cuts and styles can affect those objectively correct measurements. When you ask a guy what size jeans they wear, they most often will also remark what brand they prefer. It's not really that they actually prefer it, but mostly that fits better than maybe another brand in the same size.
