  • A Star Trek group of hive mind cyborgs essentially. Unless they were talking about something else somehow...

  • To be fair, they can fix it. All it takes is a guillotine. Or some hungry cannibals. Shouldn't be hard for someone with their wealth and resources.

  • The Star Wars Battlefront games. With how horribly the liver service EA version that came out in 2015 was and how dead it apparently is, the PS2 games are the only ones I'll ever acknowledge as existing.

Also, one of my personal favorites that I'd consider a must have is Dokopon Kingdom. Yes the remake/remaster exists, but I don't normally go for remasters in most situations. Gameplay is just roll a spinner, move on board, and adventure around the world while trying to do quests if you are in the story mode.

Both games have a lot of content and replayability in my eyes, which makes a game more of a must have for me.

    Edit:

Hot Wheels: Beat That! Looked it up because I couldn't remember the name, but that's a racing game with a good amount of replayability and isn't as short as something like Cartoon Network Racing. Didn't realize it came out on various other consoles and PC, but can definitely recommend on at least PS2 (how I ended up playing it).

  • I feel called out so badly right now...

  • It would be a bad use of it, but probably pick a random road online and pick a random volcano. Whoever gets unlucky and doesn't notice the nightmare portal in the ground gets a free trip to the base of a volcano at no cost. Would obviously need the portal to be in a location where you cannot just easily return from, though. Gonna turn a random volcano and random street into quite the tourist attraction for no reason.

  • TIL what that little pencil icon is used for.

  • Being in a basement, on a couch, playing Sonic Mega Collection on a CRT TV while also being able to pause and switch from AVI to DVR using the button on the TV to catch my favorite cartoons.

I spent a lot of time playing that game growing up, but I'd say doin what I described above was pretty peak for me back then, before middle or high school (couldn't tell you which grade, though). Probably summer, not much to do, could switch between Sonic 3D Blast and what I think was a marathon on Cartoon Network, back when I used to be so much more into the pokemon anime, during the diamond and pearl era. I do remember a single fragment of an episode, with that aura guy with the blue hat and cape and his lucario.

  • Was gonna ask what's wrong with Systemd but decided to look it up and I now see why, at least from what I was reading.

  • My personal top pick (due to lack of playing psx in a long time) is Devil Dice (also known as XI in Japan if I remember correctly). I personally just play the arcade mode, though, since the other modes aren't as fun in my opinion.

  • Definitely depends on the site because I've seen some impressive modern looking sites in the past, but a lot of sites I find on there definitely encapsulate that vibe in a great way.

    Jump
  • Pointless/Potentially Petty:

    • You must always try to end going up/down stairs on your left foot. Left foot is king compared to the right foot, so it always lands flat when walking, whereas right foot lands on the heal and goes down.

    • Games featuring anthro animals (think Sonic, Ratchet and Clank, or Brok the Investigator) are now games people will definitely be on the lookout for because anthro animal characters are amazing most of the time and I love anthro characters, as a furry.

    • People will start self-censoring at the very least big tech company names like amaz•n or g••gle or fakebook or ex-twatter.

    • "etc" or "etc." dies to using etcetera. I just like it better that way as a personal preference.

    Less Minor:

    • Everyone gets to suffer trying to self-diagnose and fix their computer issues before going straight to IT. If I had to suffer nearly a week of staying after college courses in the library for a few hours trying to get Proton VPN (unsuccessfully) to work on my Linux running laptop before deciding to send an issue report, the rest of the world gets to try being their own IT for a little bit.

    • Folders Folders Folders! Most every file of yours on your phone, desktop, laptop, etcetera, are organized into folders and subfolders. Don't care if you wanna call them that or directories/subdirectories, but keep stuff at least somewhere organized. Especially music. Your music folder will be broken down by whoever the band is, what the singer is, what show it's from, whatever, just so long as it's fairly neatly organized, assuming you have music stored on your device.

    • When it comes to cooking, it's okay not to always measure everything out exactly if you are just cooking at home for friends or family. So long as you have enough for everyone, it's okay not to be super precise, unlike with baking. Also, wooden spoons without round handles are completely banned for life. I hate them with a passion compared to rounded handled wooden spoons because I can't rub the handle to mix if it ain't round.

  • That's me right now. Just recently sent an issue report to Proton over the fact I have not been able to connect to their servers on my Linux running laptop for almost a week at this point and have given up on trying to self-disgnose and fix it on my own using what little skills I have and whatever information I could find through web searches. The worst part is how it effortlessly works perfectly on my desktop running windows 10.

  • Last time I went down the stairs at my apartment complex. Accidentally started going down on the wrong foot and wouldn't land on the correct foot when I got off the stairs, so I jumped the last couple. Long story short, in my case it's an autism thing more than any actual issue, so that is why I jumped.

  • I only remember switching to Voyager because I was having problems with images and other such things loading when I was using Jerboa when I first jumped ship to Lemmy.

  • Only things I use are, if docked, are a 3rd party wired switch "pro" controller (both because of the controller itself and because of the headphone jack on it), and an as needed my Bluetooth trackball mouse and the wired keyboard I use for my desktop.

The only other things I really have for it for accessories would be the case it came with (if you count that) and a USB C to USB male connector I got before I had a dock (for plugging in a thumb drive when undocked to more discretely move downloaded files or don't have internet access because I'm in a vehicle (mobile hotspot absolutely sucks)).

  • Got an itch(dot)io bundle of games that goes to helping French devs, so I've been playing a couple of those. Specifically Flipon and Blocks That Matter.

Outside of those, also got into Symphonia and it's pretty fun and so far has an amazing soundtrack. Also trying to make a level pack for Baba Is You, which is definitely harder than I thought it would be using the in game level editor.

  • Don't know quite how things would work out, but definitely domesticat the North American beaver because they're one of the coolest animals and you can't convince me otherwise.

  • No clue whether people consider the wii retro yet, but it's a tie between Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity on wii (since that's how I experienced it) or Cartoon Network Racing on PS2 (same reason). I'm fairly certain PS2 is technically retro by now, as insane as that sounds.

  • Couple days ago I accidentally removed a package, not fully understanding what would happen. Ended up logging out thinking nothing of it. Couldn't log back in as there were zero sessions available. Also, for some reason a huge on-screen keyboard kept popping up a lot when I'd click on the login panels things.

I am very grateful my distro came with Timeshift by default and that I had a backup from the day before to fix everything. Also glad Rescuezilla allowed me to install Timeshift and restore.

Doesn't matter who you are or what you believe, it's definitely a rite of passage to break your system once. That is something I'll always agree with.
