  • Would they really? I mean, the way I see it, they are pushing for the all digital market more and more. It's really in their best interest to kill a market that gives no money to them.

Besides, they don't need to outright kill it, just spread the fear of bans if you buy used. Enough to indirectly kill the market by making people believe buying used is dangerous.

  • There's a darker solution, which is what nintendo would love more: kill the second hand market.

And these moves might very well do it. If news spread and people start getting scared of buying a used game, second hand sales will drop and eventually die. Something that can only benefit nintendo.

  • I just had an interesting exchange with a nintendrone about this topic. Apparently, nintendo did the right thing because the guy who bought the game shouldn't go buying from shady people and, even if it was a store, then, the store is at fault (and not Nintendo), because the store should test the games they buy to guarantee that they won't cause a ban.

But in no way was Nintendo at fault for treating their customers as guilty until proven innocent.

  • No, this is what happens when they are a selfish prick who doesn't care about their surroundings. Even if I agree with the lack of 3.5 jack, a crappy pair of bt earphones are cheap, and will save the rest of us from listening to their crap.

  • They are probably listening to low quality spotify streams or, worse, compressed mp3, so it's not as if a pair of headphones would make any difference in sound quality...

Although I would love if they kept their shitty music to themselves, I'm not interested in their crap.

  • Yes. But let's be honest: every store that has arrived to pc to "kill steam" has done what to actually kill steam?

It's like every time someone thinks of creating a steam competitor the process goes like this:

"Hey, let's see what is Steam doing well, what do users love about the store... And do the complete opposite to it in hopes that users ditch steam for us!"

  • Looks at:

    1. AAA games costing 100€+ between base game and season pass.
    2. Online services on consoles constantly raising prices.
    3. Consoles that, over the time cost more instead of less.
    4. Wages frozen in time for years.
    5. Rest of unrelated to videogames stuff but that drain people's wages.

I WONDER WHY YOUNG PEOPLE SPEND LESS IN VIDEOGAMES...

  • With a little delay (sorry, life kept me busy enough so I couldn't read this before), I just finished reading. I gotta say this was a rollercoaster.

I love the news parts, as always, since you manage to get a whole week of news compressed in a single article (and without the clickbait ads) that feels fresh and nice to read.

But knowing the kind of ordeal you are dealing with is heartbreaking. First and foremost, your health comes first. If you need to take a pause from this, you don't have to apologize, it's the right thing to do so go ahead and do it. I'm really sorry to hear about all you are going through, I hope you get to feel better soon!! Best wishes from an user who is clearly human!
