I think this is a chance at getting peace or it's just going to be the same thing. And I have to tell you, Europe has a lot of spirit for this war. A lot of people, you know, when I first got involved, I really didn't think they did, but they do. And I saw that a month ago when you were there, most of you many of you were there. The level of esprit de corps spirit that they have is amazing.

They really think it's a very, very important thing to do or they wouldn't be doing. Look, they're agreeing to just, you know, they're paying for everything. We're not paying any more. We have an ocean separating us. I said, we have a problem. We have. We make the best stuff, but we can't keep doing this. And Biden should have done this years ago. He should have done it from the beginning. But he didn't.

Sounds like any ol' Trump logorrhea I heard since 2015. And way before that too tbh. I don't mean to say he isn't unwell, just that it's nothing new.

It's no hyperbole that we're witnessing the dismantling of a (however flawed it was until now) democracy and Rechtsstaat.

But of course the people who helped usher it in dismiss us as "libs panicking, lol" and will once again complain bitterly in one, two or three years from now that "nobody told them it was going to be that bad".

There is! But I'm not an art historian so I don't feel confident laying it out for you. You can blame me for talking out my arse (but don't we all on social media) - but there is much more to the story.

Ever since I learned about Camille Claudel I'm not so fond of Rodin anymore.

In 1892, after an abortion, Claudel ended the intimate aspect of her relationship with Rodin, although they saw each other regularly until 1898.

Le Cornec and Pollock state that after the sculptors' physical relationship ended, she was not able to get the funding to realise many of her daring ideas – because of sex-based censorship and the sexual element of her work. Claudel thus had either to depend on Rodin or to collaborate with him and see him get the credit as the lionised figure of French sculpture. She also depended on him financially ...

And that does not even take into account the drama of the rest of her life because I don't know to what extent Rodin was involved in it (positively or negatively).

She also made better sculptures imho.

Toilets don’t flush, and the facility is infested with bugs. It is not clear that the concentration camp, housed in the low-elevation swamps of south Florida, can withstand the rains and winds that are typical of the east coast’s summer hurricane season. It has already flooded.

Talking to family, coworkers and friends: the public image of Musk took a long while to destroy (thanks to no-one but Musk), and Tesla is connected to it 100%. These my peers only just about got to where this is now the majority opinion.

FWIW I'm seeing more and more new electrical cars on the roads, none of which are Tesla. And a lot of those who drive one feel compelled to apologize for it.

There we go. Who coulda seen that coming! While that's going to be a fun ride, at the same time companies all but mandate AS* to their employees.
