In the last 24 hours they put 2 drops in the front of my yard... It basically looks like a small manhole cover on my lawn in the front. I notice the flyer says offer valid until 5/31... today is the 21st... I can't see them having this ready within 10 days..
I'm closing in on 50, so I remember my 14.4 modems! I had aol! I don't use steam even when shower, if I do it would be too hot! Honestly I only play 2 games, they are both for MS-DOS and I'm an avid linux user. Rather than play new fancy games I reverse engineer and modify old ones. My executables are like 1mb each. I am learning x86 dissasembly.
Thank you to everyone that has been replying! When I say I "haven't had a problem with comcast" I mean I wasn't targeted for sharing anything. I had 1 letter back in like 2019 sent when I downloaded a fresh episode of a popular tv show. Besides that- never, but I'm not a good model because I don't like anything new, popular or hollywood.
I don't really torrent much, and would use a vpn if I did anything I would worry about- however I do leave my computer up most of the time sharing a ton of old music on soulseek. I have never had a problem.
That's OK- I don't think there is anything I want to see anyways. When my mom comes to visit I usually just get a VPN and spend some of the time together watching whatever new movies she knows about (that which I pirate for her) but I am rarely impressed with the stuff and usually just fall asleep. My last TV was the heavy kind it takes 2 people to lift. I sold it and my DVD player on craigslist for 5$ each- then went and spent the 10$ on pizza and breadsticks at little ceasars.
I haven't had a TV in about 20 years, but from what I understand they are all "smart" and need the internet these days. If I decided I wanted one, most certainly wouldn't want something that could go online.
Now- I would love a nice 60 inch display to play my MS DOS games on though- that would be sweet!
I use yt-dlp in the linux command line environment to download a playlist of thousands of videos of retro video game music. I can have it download the audio, convert to mp3, and only process the stuff that I haven't downloaded (if I update the playlist and add new stuff). It's very powerful.
Thanks guys for your comments. I think the problem here is that I am late-middle aged and I've been using AutoCAD 2000 for 25 years now. If you are younger than me, you will understand when you get older =)
See- now I would love to be able to run something like Autocad2000 (Yes I know it's OLD) on Linux. I learned Autocad for 2d drawings when I was young and still use it today. For modern 3d stuff, I use FreeCAD (open source). I design my own circuitboards and always find autocad more useful for this. This is why I run a dual boot linux/windows-7
I have been using Freetube since October of 2023 even know there are browser based blocking options. I just like it so much better. The only thing (and this is minor) that bothers me, is I fall asleep a lot of times with videos kind of running in the background and my laptop goes into 'auto suspend' after sometime. I normally have a linux terminal window in the background and I run a command to make it suspend after 45 minutes when I lay down. When I wake it back up I have to hit "ctrl + r" for a second to re-load the video other wise it does not like it. This is on top of the 10 or so seconds it takes my computer to wake up from suspend and get an IP address on my network again.
I'd like to do the same, however on VLC (in Linux)... is there an easy way? (sorry for my ignorance)
EDIT: I found a tutorial and tried to open a random youtube video, I think I may be missing a codec or something. When I click play nothing happens, but I think it i accessing the video since I can see a thumbnail. I think this is a problem on my end.
what kind of manuals? Automotive?
