  • Supporting genocide reflects poorly on Biden's character, values, humanity, and elective viability.

It's entirely possible that Israel's psychotic ethnic cleansing is going to hand the election to Trump who will absolutely pioneer new dimensions of anti-Semitism to unleash on the single issue voters who worried that progressives might choose human rights over supporting Israel's extermination of Gazans.

There are a lot of people who really do not support the idea that we should be funding one country's apartheid and ethnic cleansing of a rival regional ethnic group. Some of them will stay home, some of them will vote Trump not knowing that he's worse.

  • I too have my doubts about whether or not America has the stomach to actually punish our service members if they commit treason. We didn't execute the soldiers of the South and we even let them build monuments to their treason.

Americans don't like to punish people in positions of power.

  • I think even on balance, considering fractions of skeletons in whole people, you're going to end up with more than one skeleton per person despite some of those people missing bones or limbs.

It's like one sixth of a percent more than 1:1 if there are 135 million babies born each year on earth, but that's not nothing.

  • What is going on in this thread? It's like comments keep disappearing.

  • It always surprises me that the country that gives us Guy Fawkes Day each year hasn't gotten around to burning any of the actual fucking traitors.

I can't judge though we might re-elect ours.

  • The vast overwhelming majority of people being murdered in Gaza are not Hamas and have nothing to do with them. What's going on in Gaza is the extermination of an ethnic group from land that they historically inhabited alongside another ethnic group that despite experiencing a most horrific extermination of a similar type is unable to reign in its own genocidal government.

Erdogon is truly a garbage human being and an opportunist, a monstrous piece of shit and a terrible statesman, but he has the moral high ground compared to somebody like Benjamin Netanyahu who is basically the moral equivalent of a Nazi.

  • The leadership of Israel is insisting that any criticism of them is anti-semitism. Lying has a habit of undermining the seriousness of an accusation and recruits for your opposition.

Most muslims are semites too, and they are being murdered, fired, and blacklisted simply for opposing Israel. Is Israel anti-semitic?

  • When we moved to the middle of nowhere and couldn't even get channels over the air, my sister and I wore through every tape in the house.

The worst was being 9 years old desperately trying to find the second half of Lonesome Dove because you only got most of the episodes on some random VHS.

We must have worn the sound off of The Princess Bride, splash, Aladdin and the little mermaid. For a 9 year old boy living in the hinterlands after growing up in a city, Ariel singing "I want to be where the people are" hit me right in the feels.

  • I wish we had been able hear his full comments. All of the craziness aside he really is a pretty intelligent person so his decision to vocally and emphatically support Trump is beyond anomalous, it's so antithetical to seemingly every element of his own career.

Trump is literally the sideshow Bob character in that court scene ranting about how people want a king and that's why they need Republicans. I guess it was sort of tongue in cheek then but now it reads as saying the quiet part out loud.

Plus Frasier the show was remarkably inclusive(for an almost all white TV show that is), very openly liberal and sometimes even progressive. It just seems so fucking strange for him to come out as a trumpet.

  • China reminds me of people who cheat at video games and forget how much that makes up their playstyle when they go over to someone else's house and can't cheat.

  • That prevailing wage? Most prison laborers in America make less than $0.50 an hour If they're even paid at all, and are severely punished if they try to take a sick day.

I can't find anything that specifically says that Walmart, Wendy's, McDonald's or any of the other ones pays even minimum wage to prison laborers, but these businesses do get a $2,400 tax credit for each work release inmate they employ. The work release inmates are probably paid a real wage because they count as real people but I have trouble believing they would ever pay more than they absolutely had to for an inmate's labor.

  • I quit, gave 30 days notice, set about training my replacements and one of the bosses fired me 2 weeks into that period. They ended up owing me money.

It basically let me take a year off of work and just try out different kinds of art.

  • Can we celebrate the lives that persist inspite of his efforts?

  • It's both. They want women to have fewer rights and less of the ones they do.

  • Israel also has goals incompatible with peace. Hamas and Likud are partners in this crime. Unfortunately we've never known what happens if Israel stops considering that the illegal settlements, apartheid state, and starvation of Gaza has been ongoing for decades.

  • Russia wants piece... of Europe.

  • You should go out and find a good stick.

  • I have found the commenters on Lemmy to be far more thoughtful and reasonable even when they are tearing me apart as a human being. Most commenter seem to be really nice and enthusiastic though.

Maybe it's just a volume thing and we haven't attracted enough of the shit heads yet to overwhelm every thread with nonsense.

  • They don't even have copies of The Sims, how can we even take them seriously?
