  • When I was late teens and early twenties, I kept getting propositioned by gay guys. It started to bother me - I've never been in any way homophobic, but I've also never been attracted to men - and I started to worry that there was some vibe I gave off that made people think I was gay.

Then I mentioned it to a gay guy who I knew, and he said that the vibe I give off is of someone who isn't judgemental and who wouldn't react badly to being asked. Maybe there's something similar or analogous to your situation.

    Edit: propositioned, not preposition

  • That's just anger and jealousy because the fashion industry takes all the pockets from women's clothes so that there will be enough for men's cargo shorts. I mean, I get that, and it doesn't seem fair, but I'm not giving up all the pockets.

  • I came to Reddit from Fark, where half the fun was making the headline funny, at least in context of the story. It was really hard for me to get used to the subreddits that insisted the headline be the original. It doesn't bother me so much now, except I viscerally hate clickbait headlines.

  • They're going to pick someone who is popular in a purple state, and is going to help calm people who want to see someone more mainstream. I'd love a progressive, but it's going to be a straight white male from a purple state. I'll be super surprised if it's anything else. And I get it: the #1 objective here is to win, and every decision has to be predicated on that.

And besides, AOC is really young and will have lots of opportunities.

  • It's a preemptive strike. Haven't you noticed that when Trump has done something wrong, he immediately and viciously attacks his opponent for doing that thing. That's true even if the thing is being old. If you make a list of things Trump has accused others of, you'll notice quickly that he did many of those things. So many, in fact, that it will make you wonder if he's done those other things too.

He constantly accused Cruz of being a liar. He said Hilary was corrupt, racist, unstable, and that Russia wanted her to be president. He accused Obama and Biden of election tampering. It goes on and on. They say it's projection, but I think it's a calculated move to make the other people sound like they're saying "No, you are."

  • No one was against Biden because of his record

I wish that was true, but there are a giant number of people who think the economy is in the toilet. While inflation has been coming down, prices did go up, and inflation coming down doesn't lower prices, it just makes them go up more slowly. Keeping the economy strong while also lowering prices isn't realistically going to happen, but people don't get that. They think it was better under Trump because prices were lower then.

  • I personally just refuse to give Musk the business or his site any more legitimacy. He's proven repeatedly that we can't trust him, as the article you posted is another case in point. The fact that the site has some utility isn't why many of us question why people still use it.

  • What are you taking about, he didn't bait anyone. You aren't obligated to honor a quote from someone who isn't in your company. If I said my son is a mechanic and he can put a new engine in your car for $50, you absolutely should not expect a $50 engine.
