  • I've been reading nextcloud forums/reddit/lemmy/etc. for years now, and i feel like 90% of the problems are from people using docker or whatever easy one-click solution is out there

I've been running NC the old fashioned way for years now and i've never had problems of NC dying for no reason.

Have i had issues? Of course.... Not not like the ones people keep coming here and shitting on NC

The only times i've had major issues and it was actually a problem with nextcloud, is buggy major version releases... So i never install a new major release until X.0.1 these days. Havent really had problems since

  • Copyright and trademark are two different things. Only copyright expires

Here's a summary of what you can and cannot do to mickey: https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/mickey/

TL;DR: you can use the mickey character in derivative works (copyright), but you cant use the character in a way that makes people think the work is made by disney (trademark)

  • The bank isnt even that rich... They are allowed to just dream up the money from nothing and lend it to you.

And if you miss a payment, they get to reposses a real asset.

This is the biggest scam in history. The bank lends you imaginary money, and then reposesses a real asset

  • filling in background, NPC voices, and things like that, which is unfortunate because those voices were all human beings at one point

Do i want AI to replace human voice actors? Of course not.

But there's no universe where NPCs were ever going to have more than 3 voiced lines repeating over and over about an arrow to the knee or something.

AI would give developers almost infinite variety of inane NPC chatter to make the world more realistic. Thats probably where i would draw the line at using AI. Filling in little world details that nobody would otherwise have time/money to fill in

Or in other words, AI should add something to a game, not give the same amount of content using fewer human minds and hands

  • I'm speeding through a school zone at 60km/h.... I didnt INTEND to kill anyone, but i didnt see the crosswalk and mowed down a bunch of pedestrians.

This is not an accident. Entirely preventable. Intent doesnt matter

The vast majority of car collisions are entirely avoidable.

  • I moved a lot of my foss apps over to f-droid. But i'm a little worried about security.

The odds of a bad actor being able to takeover f-droid and update my keepass app with a malicious version seems a lot higher than someone being able to do the same google play, right?
