  • One thing missed is the fresh set of eyes on old IP.

Some of the older games / IP that is being bought over has had no or little interest with the old group, so the new company may have a team inside that says "hey we use that now".

It doesn't always work. But it's better than nothing.

  • The real takeaway would be efficiency.

Most of us will benefit more from a processor that's more efficient paired with a highly capable battery.

Anything performance wise outside of that will be occasional use compared to every day use.

  • I remember reading a fun fact: A single day (it might have even been an hour but let's err on the side of caution) of the bigger cruise ship engine use pumps out the same amount of pollution as all of the cars in Europe do combined for a while year.

Why on fuck do we bother with the small stuff when the big ones have such a huge weight on the problem.

  • The star of the original quake was always the multiplayer.

Tcpip multiplayer meant you could have full servers of people playing CTF. And the gameplay was epic. It was fast paced, and a massive improvement on anything else available at the time.

Nothing was better than a quad damage appearing right in front of you while you were holding a rocket launcher.
