Ngl this type of post on reddit used to make me depresssed as a kid and id make them too, dont want to see them, theres no point in thinking about this thats why ppl either dont or spend all their time religious
I hate this brand, we now pay 6$ for water from a stupid can instead of having water bottles at festivals for 1-2$, the dude who owns it is friends with insomniacs owner, ruined the water supply at every festival. Redbull is typically cheaper than water now at 4$.
No ppl dont think you're drinking alcohol like they claim its for, that has never been a valid reaon to grab it, we all know its water, someone asking you for some water should be the first clue ppl dont think its alcohol.
Moved my fediverse apps friendica, lemmy, 35c. (only user is me) to one server since it was overkill having 2 barely using 8% if that if their cpu/ram. Suprisingly easy with yunohost backups, remade users and restored backup if just the apps. Updated enhance panel, switched the sites im making for family to use as a portfolio for local webdev to ols, fairly easy,, was using wordpress templates wrong so I fixed that and redid the home pages, now I feel less confident with wordpress and wonder if ive always made sites wrong, think i just forgot since its been years.
I had slight issues with cachy but once I manually partitioned with gparted it worked well, (did the exact steps it wouldve done automatically) Was still easy using a graphical interface and mouse for everything
Might swap to endeavor tho seems more stable even tho ive had no issues past preinstall, just want to commit long term to linux and it seems easier to do with endeavor over cachy
I reccomend namecrane, easy to setup, 15 sites unlimited emails 10$ a year on their launchpromos, I had issues with their firewall blocking my ip because I added hella sites at once but supports fast
I have friendica, lemmy, gotosocial, and streams (hubzilla 2.0?, havent tried it yet) on one server and its not using much 8core 16gb from littlecreek look en up on lowendtalk signup and comment with invoice to double the ram, they have two deals one is 7$ a month, one is 9$ make sure you click the right listing since the 7$ one is the same exact specs, they also have 3.50 for 4core 8gb which is more than enough too
I tried cosmic and wasn't a fan, felt too much like windows, really like kde plasma, like it more than windows, surprisingly like hyprland too, didn't think I would. Helped that the config I used had a tips/shortcut menu that was obvious to find.
I was more worried about compatibility and dependencies i might need and not know about, cachy seems to grab a lot of stuff that I wouldn't think to grab, not sure, installed cachyos and tired to open a steam windows game from my d drive noita and it worked/played fine using wine instantly. Not sure if the others would work as well as that. I think bazzite is based off fedora and also does what cachy does. I'm liking kde plasma, Im also liking a presetup version of hyprland (the 2nd most popular one, hard to remember name)
I like plasma kde but I dont think most vnc clients support it so remote desktop with a viewer seems out, rustdesk works but you have to manually accept the connection at the computer. Which works for me since I only remote desktop when moving to another room or going to the bathroom and I need to monitor something.
Im using cachy, I had to manually partition with gparted once in the install screen after using the usb since auto didnt work but the most recent cachyos dualboot yt video can walk you through that, I can find that for you if you need it, I used ventoy since I wanted to keep using my usb for data.
Look up linux desktop environments, that more decides the look, disto decides how and where you get packages, what kind you can install, etc. Like cachyos I use pacman or paru to get packages, elsewhere youd use something else and theyd pull from a different repo.
