I'm playing mineclone2 and it's still a little rough around the edges, stuff like leaves not falling down, spawn rate of some structures being off the roof and redstone not really being there yest but it's very close to the og thing in most aspects and runs way better

I see what you mean, you want a "shooter first "game where it doesn't feel like the world was built around you, all i can say for that is boneworks.

because they won't need to maintain it, they won't even need to maintain the dependencies, some guy online will maintain the package and it's dependency for them, whether it's updated or not, it's going to launch, that's the whole point of those style of packaging

I'm surprised you don't mention any bethesda titles (fallout3, oblivion, skyrim..) since they're just an already existing world you're put into with their own factions an politics you can integrate and influence

it's the quickest fully featured de, and as an added bonus, it's the least buggy of them all, it's also very simple in it's functioning, fairly close to a diy desktop + wm config, so tweaking random stuff like the compositor is easy to do and doesn't break everything

the inner-workings of the federation system are a bit hard to wrap one's hear around

kobo's have such a high res display i'm usually inclined to run all pages though waifu2x and then downsize them to the exact res of the display to get maximum sharpness, otherwise it's either slightly blurry because the source was too small or it's slow in page turning because the pages were too big, that and changing the contrast of the pages so that the darkest color is black and the lightest white, also gets rid of jpeg noise

ah, never really needed since I read mostly manga, I just convert all the pages to the right resolution and put them in a cbz

do you get any benefits from using callibre instead of just copying the files in a folder ? I used to do it but found it way more convenient to just copy them directly since callibre doesn't create collections

It's a very clean and simple to use out of the box experience but beyond that it has no real use, it's a good choice to give your mom or for refurbishin laptops but for personal use it has little to no point

it's even more "easy" in it's presentation, the visuals are polished, it has a full windows like start menu, both on gnome and xfce, the theme config is clean and barebones, the choice of desktop configs with the bars and menu is reduced to like 6 choices, and little details like that to make it feel like a professionally made os, meaning it's only use is for people with no idea of what and os is, it's a little better at that than even mint, it does make it pretty shitty if you want to learn to use linux since many layers of simplicity are added on top of an otherwise full featured desktop
