In other news there are more than two sets of opinions in the world?

This is my biggest irk about two-party systems. Everyone identifies as one or the other when in reality you're gonna agree with 20-50% of the policies of one and 40-80% of the policies of the other, yet because they identify as a supporter of x party they feel have to pretend they can do no wrong

I don't claim that anarchism is authoritarian, just that when it isn't it's incompatible with a globalised or even national level society. Communism is a different thing as you can have authoritarian (heavily or slightly) communism in a globalised or national society but it isn't inherently authoritarian - you can also have non authoritarian communism as a structure that doesn't work in a globalised or national society

Society is inherently authoritarian leaning. If you put people in an environment where they aren't on first name terms with everyone they interact with you're going to end up with an authority not caring about people they don't know personally. If you wanna go back to living in a single village with minimal outside contact except with traders you are familiar with anyway then go for it, but I can't see many people actually wanting that. To find the minimal levels of authoritarianism that work with a society where there is a centralised power you'd probably have to look at the centre-left, with it getting more authoritarian the more right or left you go from there

I don't think that lemmy's principles are left leaning at all... Sure they're anti-authoritarian but being anti-authoritarian doesn't mean you're a leftist - George Orwell characterises this really well (mb)

What research? On how every single idea the Tories have had in the past 13 years has been bad with no redeeming features, as I think at least the one in this post certainly has at least shades of good.

You can at least disable it per-occurance by right clicking the line number and telling it not to break on that line

Dismissing all ideas of those you don't like is a stupid idea and leads to you becoming dissociated from the views of the population at large but you do you I guess

At least break ideas down into categories small enough that you form a viewpoint on it to compare to theirs, as it's near impossible to find a group you agree or disagree with on everything

I think approximately 30 days off is pretty much standard in the developed world, with 23-27 of those being whenever and 3-7 being fixed public holidays (nyd, Christmas etc)

Sounds like you haven't invented Europe yet, even if you spring for a non-Eastern vareity it does make the price of dino juice, houses and cigarettes increase

Usually free or at least heavily subsidised (even in places like the UK where you're paying £10k/year the government also plays about £5k-40k towards it depending on what course etc.)

Both contribute to the combustion, but it's the metal that's fuelling it while water plays the role that air/oxygen usually would. I think codyslab did a video where he had a flame fed by air in an atmosphere of methane which demonstrates the concept that actually you need both fuel and oxidiser for the flame, and one "burns" in an "inert" atmosphere of the other

I appreciate it's a big state but unless you're within a couple of miles from the coast in Northern California it is unreasonably hot for a significant portion of the year
