  • Thank you kind stranger 😊.

  • People don't know how CoW FSes work 🀷.

  • Yeah, they like forgot to reupload a new cert 3 times.

And they hold packages back. EndeavourOS uses Arch's repos directly, whereas Manjaro has it's own repos. EndeavourOS is just Arch with a GUI installer and some handy prepicked choices, like a DE.

  • I asked for the source, we'll see if we get it 😁.

  • My point was, it can be done.

That rig is currently running a dual boot Void/Win10 install. Sure, the Win10 install is slow AF (did I mention the spinning drive is IDE πŸ˜…), but I only use that if I have to and there is no other choice (software extremely tied to Windows and not even Wine can help). Also, I usually use LTSC editions (can't be bothered with debloating and it's officially supported by MS, so there are no hickups during updates and stuff like that) and that also helps a lot to be honest (regarding speed).

So, in general, if you only need Windows from time to time, yes, it is a viable option.

  • I still don't get why they did that, that just hurts their market share... probably not by a lot, but still, some people will look into other options if they think their computer is good enough for them.

  • Yes, as much as I'd hate to admit it, that is true. I was just pointing out the fact that it can be done, for those that might not know that it can be done (a lot of dual booters out there, including myself).

  • Fact: If it can run Win10, it can run Win11.

Those limitations imposed by MS can be circumvented with Rufus.

I've successfully installed Win11 on a Core2Quad with 2GB of RAM... on a spinning drive.

  • Exactly my thoughts as well.

Why update on that little battery life left... the power will return sooner or later, going without updates even for a week or two is no real problem. Hell, I update like once every 3 weeks to a month, it's not that big of a deal.

  • Yeah, it kinda is πŸ˜‚.

Try it again, maybe the second time it will generate something more offensive πŸ˜‚.

  • Nah, I think he'll find it funny.

  • OK, here's one of my own accounts 🀣🀣🀣.

  • I wish he could read this πŸ˜‚.

  • Yeah 😁, not an native English speaker, tried my best without googling 🀷.

    EDIT: There, fixed it 😁.

Though I have to admit the thou and thy didn't seem right, but I was in a hurry 😁.

  • Good one, love it! πŸ˜‚

Still, it keeps the temp down to about 60C, that's good enough compared to 85C before that.

  • Yeah, I also do that sometimes, but it doesn't feel as good to be honest...

  • That is why I do shit like this.

  • Do teslas run android, or something else?

    Probably Hurd. /s
