  • Yeah I think that's kinda the point. Fedora does a bunch of things in really specific ways that aren't at all like Debian based distros or Mac or windows. Eg - Selinux. So you, initial experience is pretty poor if you don't know a decent amount about what's going on

  • I have mint on my big rig, on a new Intel nuc laptop, on 2 VMS, on 2 proxmox VMS, on my home file server made of old parts, on another laptop from like 2005, and now on a wyse 5060 terminal.

All of them run perfectly, connect to file shares, automatically find my printer, etc. Not one crash ever, and it all works like clockwork day in and day out. I'm halfway through baldurs gate 3 on the big rig now and can play it remotely via xrdp from the laptop.

If you want a system that works and let's you get on with life I'd reccomend it

  • Aha! I went down this road recently.

I have the main full Wikipedia plus extras on my file server accessible on the home land through kiwix.

It was really simple and painless to set up. It also includes wikihow which is the How you're after

These things aren't the greatest sources for anything of course but they cover pretty much everything you might want to know in a general "archiving human knowledge at home" sense.

Very happy with it all and have bookmarks on all the devices at home now.

    10/10

  • How many of usnin this country are here because exactly that situation occered in their homeland? And now they arrive here and find that instead of equal opportunity for everyone, we are actively implementing apartheid?

In this case name calling is necessary

  • None of that actually says anything. Its just wide open phrasing that allows for limitless scope. Can you not see that somehow?

All this is way out in the fucken weeds anyway man.

Why the fuck are people trying to create a less inclusive and egalitarian society instead of trying to find and implement actual solutions to solve the problems that exist. And why do people who apparently think of themselves as progressive and socialist think any of this is OK?

Use the mechanisms we have to push for positive long term structural change, using the huge moral and political advantage gained at the election. Build, change, organize, grow systems that actually help people who need it.

Everyone is just going along with this stupid pointless circus because they feel guilty about British crimes and think this will somehow help people who died 200 years ago.

Get a fucken grip and use your Democratic power to help, don't throw your weight behind people who are making the world less inclusive ffs

  • Sure, but they can certainly give it powers to make or veto economic policy, make decisions on land ownership, environmental matters, regulations, or pretty much anything else, because there is no limiting phrase around "powers"

And all this done by a group of people or an individual chosen through unspecified means with unspecified credentials.

Those specifically are what I object to
