Looks like he remembers me! Owner left very early this morning so arrived and it was just him. He freaked out for a few seconds then seemingly a few neurons fired.

Still has the puppy head tilt.

Of course he remembers you! He's a Border Collie. The smartest breed around. Plus you feed him gourmet meals. He's one lucky boy.

- Thanks. 😊 they are cheesy scrolls buns. I roll out the dough with a rolling pin, spread with cheese and herbs then roll it up, cut into slices and bake.

I'm in an uber running late for an appointment and anxious like hell, the driver isn't taking the route I'd normally take (or suggested by uber itself) - but bloody hell, he has amazing luck - got a right turn at the bloody Princess St roundabout within a minute AND hit Station St Fairfield just as the train gates were lifting so crossed it instantly. This could've easily taken an extra 10 minutes...

I'd ask him what app he's using or it's from his own experience.

Just went down to Bunnings and bought 2 x these things to put in front of one of my big balcony windows to hopefully help block a bit of the afternoon sun + add a bit of colour to the joint. I have them sitting precariously on top of each other, but I think it looks alright!

I really need to get around to selling those 2 monitors on the floor. Also please ignore my dirty windows, I'm cleaning them after work.

I've got more recipes to contribute there or in Food Australia but they're more poverty food that's not always healthy so they might get mocked a bit as gross. Melbourne is a foodie city. Also mending suggestions might be pointless as these days a lot of clothing doesn't really last long enough to be worth repair.

Let people decide their own levels of health and moderation, post the recipes. I support povo lifestyle choices.

A very rich and decadent pudding. A bit like a giant chocolate truffle ball. That's why cream and 2 custards were deployed. 5/5 yum yums.

I think I've managed to work through most of my egg excess. One large tray of quiche is in the oven now, and I am prepping the fruit for a fruit cake tomorrow. Once that's done I'll be down to 3 1/2 dozen which I will be able to use up making breakfasts and other ongoing odds and ends. A couple of weeks ago I had 10 dozen!

Ok so what are you using to plump up the fruit🤞 brandy or rum. Brandy or rum. Brandy or rum🤞
- Brandy. I'm going to need a new bottle after this - I have enough to brush the finished cake a couple of times and then it will be empty.
Sounds delicious. How about pavlova with whites and custard or a lemon curd with the yolks should use some up nicely.
Don't overlook how many eggs a custard can smash! It'll go well with the fruitcake (unless you'll be aging the fruitcake for Xmas, idk these traditions too well)
In that case maybe custard tarts might be an everyday snack option

  Given the weather is warming up I might think about a custard based ice-cream and some sorbet with the whites. I probably shouldn't given how quickly I would eat it all, but it is rather tempting.

So for anyone interested in my Google Home problem what was happening was Samsung wanted to over ride Google Home and it succeeded after an update. Every now and again Samsung interferes with Philips hue and Google Home can't turn the lights on/off but nothing else has really happened except for the odd triggering from the TV.

So basically Samsung is a bully. Samsung asked GH for its lunch money then kick it in the nuts. Samsung has been told to stay in it's corner and let GH do its thing.

Maybe this is what has been happening to bot 1. Don't let the bullies win bot. We love you.

I am glad you got to the bottom of the problem, it sounds like it was getting really annoying.
In regards to Bot001, the tablet and phone are Samsung, so maybe they are being bullies. Bot001 has it's own dedicated laptop though, so it should be safe even if they try to gang up. The other possibility is the wi-fi rice cooker, it's Chinese and so could be part of a communist takeover. I try to keep it from consorting with the (also Chinese) breadmaker so they don't consolidate their power base, maybe I need to do more.
- Good to know botty is safe. Maybe he went to bed early because there was no cricket on.

While I was at Bunnings today I dropped $80 on a new rubbish bin which opens automagically. I've had a POS cheapo foot pedal one for years and it has stunk for ages when opening it even after I've tried cleaning it numerous times with vinegar and chemicals. I don't know what I did to it, but it must have been during some dark days. Anyway I have significantly improved my life by buying this and I haven't even used it yet. It even has a wee countdown timer on it to let you know when the lid is going to close!

My shingles is scabbing over and it looks like I have road rash on half my face... Trying so so soooo hard not to scratch and pick (I'm a terrible picker) because apparently shingles can scar horribly.

I made overnight oats with milk, vanilla yoghurt, a wee bit of maple syrup and a pinch of cinnamon sugar.

It's proper nice but I think I made too much. Will know for next time.

I love overnight oats, although mine tend to be heavy on the fruit and I add yoghurt when serving. It also freezes well, which is great to do when there are lots of fresh summer fruits available.

God, job hunts are the worst. Partner's been looking for something literally anywhere within an hour of the cbd, has years of hospo experience, years of random tech knowhow. Even casual would be fine at this point. Just needs something to tide him over whilst we wait on the partner visa stuff to go through.

He's only had one bloody interview, even, and they were reportedly incredibly nice and then just never talked to him after.

I'm so exhausted with supporting both of us. He's so exhausted with doing 20+ bloody job apps every day. Ugh

Had to do some several times on different platforms and got a email this morning saying I needed to put in the emergency contact details or induction would be delayed... except they were already in. They did warn me that their systems were hiccuping since the Optus situation.
Anyway induction tomorrow and hopefully starting next week!

I have to purchase an unregistered vehicle permit from vicroads. Anyone hate how you have to purchase a separate permit to move it from point A to B and also to get it roadworthied/registered?

I have to move it from the depot to my home (1 permit) then from my home to the mechanic/vicroads (1 permit). They double dip on the permits, will cost me $100 instead of $50 :/

I used to get the one month option so I could move it between appointments without repeating the hassle.
- That would be fine if you could use the same permit for moving it from A-B and getting it ready for registration but they want two separate permits for that
  The time frame isn't too bad, it's $50 for 1 day but only ~$1 extra per day on top so the upfront cost is frustrating but requiring two permits is the frustrating part because they're used for the same purpose i.e. full TAC compliance.

hrrrm well the people I'm going to this festival with have decided they can spread their gear across a few people and I won't need to rent a car to go with them. A bit of a bummer cos I was looking forward to driving, I like long drives and I can't drive the shared car cos it's a manual.

Part of me still wants to rent the car anyway, but it's $483 I'll be saving over 5 days, which could go towards buying a car eventually... on the other hand if I have my own car I can bail first if I want to and take whatever I want. I've got one more week to decide...

I genuinely do not understand the terror manual, and I got my license at 29. Driving schools can help if no friend is willing to risk their gearbox, you get a plate of ‘driver under instruction’ rather than an L
- I actually don't mind manual per se, I've done a few lessons in it and was meaning to properly learn it this year. But I don't think I'm confident learning it in less than 2 weeks for a long drive in someone else's car...
