Online suicide forum 'blocks' UK users amid investigation - BBC News
In March, Ofcom gained powers to take action against sites hosting illegal material and its investigation into the forum is its first under the Online Safety Act.
I’m all for making your own choices, but when are the people on the forum who encourage people to kill themselves… going to kill themselves? Seems to me it’s just a bunch of serial killers working together.
I wish it was taken as seriously as this, because I too see it this way. You may not be pulling the trigger, but you most certainly killed that person by stoking their suicidal ideation.
This is the kind of darkly humorous deep-thought that keeps me coming back to the Internet.
EDIT: Sorry, no, I don't find this funny in itself, I meant I found it "funny" how the commenter above so simply and concisely destroyed the concept of such an awful thing, by pointing out the sheer absurdity of its logical conclusion. Proving it shouldn't exist by its own definition. Longer explanation below if it helps.
But in short, I hope nobody is visiting this "community", when they could / should be receiving compassionate professional care and support in this world that's already got enough darkness without them leaving it before their time. :(
