Unless it is either perfectly perpendicular to the skin or is already somehow laying in all directions: There can only be one direction. Given a mole moves in tight spaces backwards and forward, both would make sense.

The same is true about sharks.

Quite the opposite:
- Sharks don't have fur
- Shark skin is rough is one direction and smooth in the other. This allows them to get friction with the water to drive themselves forward, but the glide through the water for efficient travel.
The idea was copied into competitive swim suits.

Impossible.
Unless the mole just doesn't have hair on its face or ass or somewhere, then it's possible to comb all hairs flat.
That is the case, it has bald patches around its mouth and, uh, hands. I don't want to look up pictures of mole ass, but I can’t imagine the anus itself is hairy, that would be a biohazard trap in the environment moles live in.
I knew someone would beat me to it.

Claims like that and the actions following from them is why I'm currently in litigation with the Dunkin' franchise of Tightsqueeze, Virginia.
It doesn't help that they also insist that "mole blood is basically coffee"..
