Most companies have already chosen a side. Fuck the orange facist and the horse he rode in on.
This is a reminder for whoever needs to hear this that DEI does not mean setting quotas on hiring by race. That is a myth.
Instead, it's making sure that people of all races and genders are informed about the job opportunity so they have a chance to apply too. The best talent is then hired.
Today, DEI is used as a dogwhistle by MAGA who hates seeing genders and races other than their in-group at their workplace.

The hero we need.
Disgusting. This is Canada, we strive for equity, cherish diversity and value inclusion.
That might be difficult. Almost all of our applicants now are recent immigrants. I'm not sure you could only hire white men even if you wanted to.
It's the one thing we should be doing.
Thinking that DEI is the problem in the current state of society is some serious misunderstanding of what it is and how the world actually works.
It's also just some rhetoric buzz words given rally-cry.
Given the constellation of outcomes in reality, DEI essentially just means to reduce nepotism and cronyism, pretending to be about merit, when instead DEI was about making your leadership not all look like one guy (by making it like 10% something else).
Except they have filled upper echelons now with totally unqualified sycophants who look just like them and who essentially use WhatsApp to share top secret information with impunity.
Wait until they discover what the word "woke" really means, before coopting it.

I like smoothies.
Trump is already trying to extend anti-diversity mandates to French companies that supply the US government, and at some point soon it's going to hit Canadian companies. There's a very real chance that in certain cases, complying with his demands would violate Canadian human rights laws.
It's time for companies to start picking sides - will you comply with the laws of the country you're in, or will you voluntarily let Canada become the 51st state?
