Is anyone else constantly paranoid wearing light coloured clothing because they're afraid of getting stains?
I just bought a cool new sweater but once again I'm afraid to wear it because it's an off-white colour that will stain very easily π
Clothes are meant to be used. One day, my whites will get stained, and thatβs ok. I will buy new ones in the future. So mote it be.

It's not paranoia, I put on a white shirt two hours ago and it's already stained.
Yes. I don't really buy white clothing for that reason. I also don't like black clothing because of lint showing up so easily. Plus it gets really hot where I live. Wearing black out in the sun is just extra miserable.

I've dressed in nothing but dark colors since the 1980's and worn black underwear since they became readily available to me (early 90's?).
I snowboard in very bright colors though. Being rescued takes priority over looking clean.
Surely snowboarding in white clothing isn't ideal for being rescued

White doesn't work for obvious reasons but other colors found in nature can make you blend in.
Someone doesn't have young kids. I'm resigned to the fact that clothes of any colour will get stained or ripped or damaged in some way.

My dryer broke like 6 years ago, and I just never cared enough to fix it. You can definitely still get permanent stains on line-dried clothes, but I'll grant that it's much harder without all the heat. I have one white cotton T-shirt that I've been going Ahab on for fucking months. It wasn't even expensive, I just want to see if I can get the trifecta of mustard/ketchup/fucked up molybdenum disulfide grease stains out.

I just have realistic expectations for myself. I know that I have the hand eye coordination of a five year old and dress to reflect that.
No. I've noticed that I shouldn't cook or eat red food with a white top but I bought an apron for that reason. Outside of cooking and eating, I've not had any problems with stains.
Also stains are not a huge deal. I only get rid of clothes if they are completely falling apart and not fixable with a sewing machine.
The (apparent but elusive) hole in my bottom lip and Spaghetti Bolognese are the primary cause for my disquiet.
Context: am old fart from the time of white work shirts and still like white or pale colours today. Wtf are dark suits and dark shirts about? That's clubbing clobber.
Yep. I basically wear rags around the house for this reason.
This is a big reason why all my clothes are either black, very dark blue, very dark gray, or very dark green. The only things I own that are white are my socks, and I only wear them about half the time anyway.

I use light colored clothing to remind myself to not eat. No eating, no stains.

Only mildly. Some which I especially like I'll save for special occasions, but I'm not scared of just wearing a stained shirt to work/the store because clothes are made to be worn and life happens while you're wearing them and other people know that.
Kinda, but I'm more or less resigned to the inevitability of it and I'm actually proud of myself, like a little kid, when I go out to eat and DON'T somehow end up wearing part of my dinner
