Is it gonna be an actual upgrade or just AI upscaling of textures? Cuz I remember what they did with StarWars Battlefront 1 & 2 as they just upscaled textures and fucked everything else up.
- There was so much other controversy with that game that I didn't even hear about the AI. Gross.
- Warcraft 3 reforged was also AI upscaling and it looks like ass.
NWN2 has the Mask of the Betrayer expansion which is unbelievably good.
Yesss, loved that one, especially the first expansion, Mask of the Betrayer. Prime D&D storytelling (and very decent gameplay).
- I understand that NWN1 really only let you control one character. Does NWN2 give you a full party to control? And is it a continuation of the story in NWN1 with the same characters, or is it just set in the same setting?
  
  It's been a while but AFAIK you control three or four party members so it's more like the older BG games than NWN1 in that regard.
  Storywise it's set in the Forgotten Realms near the regions of the first game but it's a completely new story with new characters. Iirc the story manages to decently subvert some expectations. I remember a conversation with a dead god in the expansion that was on par with meeting Sovereign for the first time in Mass Effect.
Looks like BeamDog is doing this one as well, which is fantastic news. They did a superb job with the first game.
- Did they insert fanfiction again like with the Baldur's Gate games or did they stick to just remastering this time?
Have never played. But love the current state of NWN1. This news sounds lovely.
Edit: Glancing through the NWN Developer Chat Discord - this looks like it might be going through them. So… slightly more skeptical.
Well, well, well... I sure hope this might mean a sale on the original until this gets released.

  I played the crap out of NWN when it was first released, even did a lot of custom srevers and played as the DM. Bought the enhanced edition and realized that I had completely forgotten how clunky the movement was. Everything else was awesome!
  With they had added real time DM tools to BG3 like they had in NWN so I could drop in mobs and add in custom objects on the fly for friends. That would have been as fun as NWN was back in the day!

What are they doing to justify 7x install? Space is becoming premium again with the surge in handheld pcs
- They should put each game on its own separate storage – We’ll call them cartridges.
