I always read on reddit suicide watch people asking for a hit person to kill them. My question is it that easy to just post and get a PM? Or do they have to go to a bar looking?

The internet is full of shit. I'd say there is a 100% chance you're either getting trolled. Or someone will rip you off and then not be a hitman after all. It's super easy to prey on people who are at rock bottom, or trying to do something illegal where you have to pay up-front.

He's good now. Well somewhat. He has to be in the hospital over Xmas. So we are going to bring him a fully cooked ham and all the fixins. I had to well lets just say make a donation to the hospital so he could get off the psych ward floor and his own room. My mom an ex PRN for the hospital asked them to do a full checkup so we would be able to bring him non hospital food. He checked out fine. So even though we get to spend it in a hospital we are together.

  I broke my scapula once ~December 21st. So I know what kind of fiasco it can be at the hospital and getting specialist treatment this time of year. By the time someone could schedule surgery, I was so far recovered that I opted out of operating. I had like 40% of the shoulder socket part of the scapula floating too.

Well, it depends on what you call a hitter.

Any time there's money offered, the chances of someone taking it are non zero. It's hoping to be lower on a platform like reddit, or even lemmy, but there are people out there willing to kill for money.

However, that's different from someone doing it regularly, which is still different from a "professional" or contract killer. The difference is largely in methodology and pricing.

You aren't going to get someone that's very skilled at subtle or reliable activity, because they wouldn't be responding via a public and security weak platform if that was the case.

Unless the platform reports it to a law enforcement agency, it's not going to be an automatic preventive, but it would indeed be a clear reason to make a report to authorities.

Hiring a killer randomly is pretty much asking to be arrested, or in the case of this question, shoved into a facility and held against your will for as long as is deemed necessary.

It's also a pretty damn low chance of success. Non zero, but low. Normally, when people want to hire a killer any way other than finding someone they already know and convincing them to do it, they'd have to know someone that knows someone.

You can find paid killers, if not serious professional killers, in most cities with gang/organized crime. The problem is that they aren't usually going to even talk to an outsider, and they definitely won't go DMing randos on reddit or whatever.

There's been reporters that have made contact with that kind of killer and interviewed them. But it isn't exactly a regular occurrence and there's no way to properly use any interviews as evidence in most situations. Actually discussing the possibility of taking the job is likely to be admissible, and damning.

Now, it's kinda funny you asked about going to a bar to look. While you aren't likely to be successful, and may end up getting hurt rather than killed, organized criminals do tend to have favourite bars, which also tend to be money laundering fronts from what I've been told. So, if you knew the right places, you'd be more likely to succeed than asking on a forum. Still not likely, but not impossible either.

As a tangent, I was recently watching a short documentary about a reporter trying to investigate the matter. Even with her contacts and easily verifiable identity, she only found one person in the US willing to talk to her, and that guy was pretty unbelievable. Seemed more like some gang banger playing at being tough. Especially when compared to the South African killer she interviewed. But both it those were still not going to be easy to make contact with. You have to be vetted, or it ain't happening

I wouldn't be surprised if there were no active hit men at all. Maybe there are, idk, but there being none isn't impossible.

I doubt their are any u can just hire. Im sure gangs cia etc have go to people but i doubt they are just for hire on the internet.

Hitmen technically do not exist. They do, but it's an awfully small pool. Majority of the time, you're going to get caught up in a sting operation than actually getting something done.

And quite frankly, hitmen would rather take out people of higher authority and something very specific. They aren't just going to out and willingly take out people who're down on their luck. They'll probably tell them that there's a hundred other ways.

Also, Reddit is the worst place for people who're mentally suffering. Spez must get his rocks off to know that he offers no protection for people who're at their shittiest since they're all just statistics for him that provides growth for his shitty platform.

I remember reading once that like 99% of hitmen hired to do a job take the money and just go to the police to snitch on the person paying them. The average payment was also only like $3-5000. Which is small potatoes.

Very much not like the movies. But then again, if they took the money and ran that means they got paid in advance and who does that? Even in the movies, the hitman takes payment after the job is done!
